A photograph of a temple puja at a shrine decorated with marigold and yellow flower garlands. In the centre, a deity murti sits on a pink and white cloth-draped seat, its front and sides wrapped in red and white flower garlands. Two silver lamps stand on either side, and brass plates of offerings and fruit rest on wooden steps before it. A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a purple-bordered cloth raises a brass plate with his right hand, while another priest on the left holds a lamp near the shrine. Behind them, larger deity figures are framed by colourful garlands under a yellow-green canopy. Only a few partial figures appear at the lower edges.

A bare-chested priest in a gold-bordered white dhoti and saffron-coloured cloth stands at right, arms raised with palms pressed together and holding incense sticks above his head. A rudraksha mala hangs on his chest. Beside him at left is a deity murti or ceremonial pedestal draped with yellow and red marigold and rose garlands, with a striped cloth and a woven basket-like vessel at its top. A brass lamp with a red garland sits in the lower right foreground. Smoke or incense haze fills the air, with colourful hanging lights and a crowd blurred in the background.

Close-up photograph of a ceremonial kalasha or sacred pot draped in a white cloth with a green and gold border, heavily garlanded with red and yellow flowers, green leaves, and jewelled ornaments with blue stones. A bare arm wearing silver bangles reaches in from the upper right, holding a thread or sacred cord above the pot. Behind, a fire pit with burning flames, silver ritual vessels and a brass oil lamp with a lit wick stand on a colourful striped cloth. No people's faces are visible; this is an ritual homa setting with offerings.

A temple puja in progress. In the foreground a priest with a bare chest, white dhoti and a green-and-gold patterned cloth wrapped around his shoulders is holding a lit camphor aarti flame toward a deity murti. The murti and the stone seat behind it are densely covered in garlands of red roses, yellow marigolds and white flowers, and a small kalasha-like offering sits among them. A second person in a white dhoti stands partly behind the priest. On the right, a seated deity image in a purple garment is framed by yellow and white garlands, with a silver-toned crown and jewellery. Smoke drifts through the dim hall.

A photograph of a temple ritual before a garlanded deity shrine. A bare-chested priest in an orange-and-white dhoti stands at center, extending his arm toward a brass tray of fruit and flowers placed on a covered altar. Behind him, a seated white-bearded man with folded hands and a bare-chested man in white dhoti look on. Large murtis with flower garlands, one holding a sword, stand in the background beside a maroon-clad figure. Brass lamps, a kalasha-style vessel and bells line the right side, and a fire glows at the base of the altar. Rows of devotees with folded hands and raised palms fill the lower foreground, and a few hold phones.

A bald priest bent forward in a white dhoti with a yellow-and-orange shawl and a rudraksha mala holds a lit camphor flame on a plate toward the deity. Another priest stands behind him on the right in a white dhoti and red garment, and a third priest with a bare torso holds a tray at the left edge. Brass lamps, a bell and flower-strewn offerings sit on the altar in the foreground.

A temple puja photograph showing a richly garlanded deity murti at centre, draped in marigold and red flower garlands with white jasmine strands, with a sacred flame in a silver lamp being offered by a man in white dhoti and a bare-chested priest at left holding a ritual vessel. Behind the deity, ornately dressed statues in gold and saffron-coloured cloth stand under floral decoration. Incense smoke rises in the foreground. Several seated devotees' heads are visible at the bottom edge, and a sacred fire lamp burns on a tray in front of the murti.
