Interior of a red-pillared Hindu temple filled with hanging brass bells on chains. Devotees crowd the narrow passage: a man in a striped shirt raises his arm toward the bells, a woman in a red sari and a woman in a leopard-print top stand nearby, and a shaven-headed man in a saffron-orange shawl stands at right. Oil lamps glow along the walls and a round wall clock is visible. The shaven-headed man is a devotee in a saffron wrap; his appearance does not clearly match the a person cues, so he is described by role only.

A photograph at a temple courtyard in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the right foreground a man with long, wavy dark hair stands with his back to the camera, bare-shouldered and wrapped in an orange-saffron shawl with gold trim, his palms pressed together in prayer (anjali) toward a bronze deity murti set in a stone niche. A small stone sign with Devanagari text hangs above the niche. Before him a brass railing holds many rows of small oil lamps, and smoke rises from incense or lamps. Behind the railing a priest in red garments attends an altar with offerings, and other devotees stand nearby in white and red clothing. The setting is a wet, shaded temple precinct with red cloth canopies and a red-and-gold structure to the left.

Interior of a red-pillared temple at night, warmly lit by lamps. Hanging brass bells dangle from chains from the ceiling, and a man in a striped shirt reaches up to ring one. Devotees crowd the aisle; a bald man on the right wears a saffron-and-white wrap over his shoulder and a reddish-brown garment, while women in saffron and maroon saris stand nearby. A round clock hangs on a pillar. The scene looks like a bell-ringing moment during darshan.
