In the foreground, a man with folded hands and rudraksha malas sits with eyes closed. Near the centre, a man with white tilak and rudraksha mala holds an object while chanting; brass plates, small cups, flowers and a lit oil lamp rest on a green cloth and orange mats. Behind them, more white-clad devotees and a few onlookers in white and red sit in a yellow-walled hall. No figure here is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance, so the role is described only as priests and devotees.2012-05-14 +1 copiesSeveral men in white dhotis with gold-bordered cloth sit cross-legged on a floor in a temple-like room, performing a ritual puja. Many wear white sacred ash lines on their foreheads and arms, and some have rudraksha malas around their necks. They hold brass bells, small cups and pots, and several have their hands raised toward small brass plates holding oil lamps, lit wicks and offerings. Orange and red cloth mats lie beneath the plates, and a few clay lamps burn on the floor. Behind them stand a cream sofa chair, a gold-patterned chair and a treadmill, with a young man in a red garment seated at the left edge.2013-02-04October 09 20112011-10-09February 04 20132013-02-04September 21 20102010-09-21November 29 20112011-11-29May 18 20122012-05-18May 27 20122012-05-27Several men seated cross-legged on a tiled floor in a hall with red chairs, palms pressed together in namaskar with eyes closed. They wear white dhotis with maroon-and-white borders and are bare-chested, with white tilaka and white sandal marks on their foreheads and arms, and some wear rudraksha malas. Brass bells, small brass oil lamps and a brass pot sit on trays with flower petals, sandalwood and offering plates before them. Behind them a shaved-headed man in white robes sits in the background, and a framed portrait hangs on the wall. This appears to be a pada puja ritual.2011-08-02A photograph of a seated group of shaven-headed men in white dhoti and shawl with red border performing a puja on mats inside a hall. The front man in the centre has white tripundra marks on his forehead and arms, palms pressed together in prayer, and wears a rudraksha mala. Brass plates, small oil lamps, bells, flowers and a bowl of yellow rice sit before them. Behind, a seated audience in white and yellow saris and white clothes watches behind a metal railing, with a red carpet and a plastic container of offerings at left.2010-09-30
