August 05 20092009-08-05Night photo of a crowded outdoor event under a white canopy strung with colourful triangular bunting and banana-leaf decorations. On a raised stage, several people in white dhotis and shirts stand and sit, with two figures in saffron/orange robes near the centre, one with a shaved head and one with long dark hair and a flowing orange wrap. A large banner reads a Tamil heading about an ashram inauguration. A dense crowd of devotees in white and bright saris fills the foreground, some with hands raised, and bright floodlights illuminate the scene. The visible people are roughly in the dozens, with many more in the crowd.2008-04-19April 19 20082008-04-19January 08 20122012-01-08April 19 20082008-04-19January 08 20102010-01-08December 30 20072007-12-30Night outdoor gathering of a large crowd on dirt ground, lit by floodlights. Tall bamboo poles frame the crowd, and at right an ornate decorated float or deity palanquin with colourful drapery and garlands is visible. A banner and tents appear in the background. No individual can be confidently identified as a person from appearance.2010-02-12A large night crowd gathers outdoors at an evening festival, with many people in white clothes and yellow shawls moving close together on a dirt ground.
