A bright sun glows through hazy grey sky above a tall ritual flagpole with a red and ochre finial and wrapped striped shaft, rising from the lower right, beside a dark building wall on the left. No people are visible in the frame. The pole appears to be a dhwajastambha, a temple flag mast, shown in silhouette against the sun.2014-08-31A tall copper-coloured ceremonial pole rises against a partly cloudy blue sky, topped by a tiered wooden crest with carved animal heads and finials. A thin red cloth strip hangs from the pole, and a rope runs alongside it. A second finial is visible at the lower right edge, beside a dark building roof. No people are visible.2013-09-13A tall ornate temple flagstaff, the dwajastambha, rises against a pale blue sky. Its wooden tiered platforms are decorated with small hanging bells, a golden animal figure perches on the top tier, and copper finials crown the top. A saffron-orange flag with a circular emblem flutters from its side, and a thin cable runs down the pole. The flagstaff's base is a carved copper-clad pillar. No people are visible, and the flag and pole suggest a dwajarohanam flag-hoisting setting.2009-07-08August 26 20072007-08-26Photograph looking up at a tall ornate brass or copper flagstaff against a pale grey sky.
