A photograph taken inside a small shrine room with green walls. On the left, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron robe and sits cross-legged, one hand raised to his chin, and holds a dark book with a white label. In the centre, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti kneels with his back to the camera. On the right, an elderly bearded sannyasi with white beard and forehead tilak sits on a red cushioned seat wearing an orange cloth and a rudraksha mala, one hand resting on a brass plate. Behind them a standing man in white stands near a garlanded altar with pink and green flower garlands and a gilded deity murti. A golden ornate chair frames the right side. Swamiji (probable) is the long-haired man in orange with distinctive long swept-back hair and saffron robe, seated on the left.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11Indoor temple-shrine photograph. A man with long dark hair in an orange saffron robe sits cross-legged on a grey granite floor, gesturing with one hand toward a kneeling devotee in white dhoti and shirt, whose head is bowed at the feet of an elderly bearded sannyasi in orange robes with a rudraksha mala who sits on a red cushioned seat. Two standing men in white shirts and dhotis watch from behind. Behind them are a dark bronze-framed arched niche, a garlanded deity image, framed devotional pictures and gilded panels. A book and small items lie on the floor in front. The long-haired man in orange shows cues consistent with a person, seated and teaching.2009-08-11 +1 copiesIndoor temple-style scene on a dark polished granite floor. Two saffron-robed figures sit cross-legged on red cushions: a younger man with long dark hair in an orange garment, and an older bearded sannyasi with a shaved-looking head, white forehead markings, rudraksha beads and a bare upper body wrapped in orange cloth, who points at a small stack of books and a pamphlet. Behind them two men in white dhoti and shirt stand holding books, one holding a white book. A brass lamp, a framed deity image with a golden face, and garlands of multicoloured flowers are arranged on a low wooden stand. A large ornate gilded arch frames the right side of the shrine.2009-08-11A photograph inside a temple hall with green stone walls and a polished floor. On the left, a long-haired man in an orange saffron robe sits cross-legged on a red cushion with hands folded, facing right. On the right, an elderly bearded sannyasi with a shaved head, white forehead markings, rudraksha mala and an orange cloth sits on a raised red-cushioned seat, holding a small book. Behind them, a standing man in white shirt and dhoti looks on. A framed portrait garlanded with colourful flower garlands sits on a shelf beside a gold-framed deity image, a small brass lamp and stacked Tamil books. The orange-robed long-haired man matches the page's Swamiji (probable) description; cues are long swept-back hair and saffron robes.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11A photograph inside a temple-like shrine room with a green-tiled wall and polished floor. A young man with long dark hair, wearing orange robes and seated cross-legged on the floor, faces an elderly bearded sadhu with white-smeared forehead, rudraksha beads and orange cloth who sits on a red cushion. Two men in white shirts and white dhotis stand behind, one with arms folded. Framed pictures, a flower garland, a brass kalasha-style object, a small oil lamp and a stack of books sit on the floor by a gold-framed portrait. The seated young man's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person, though this is not certain from appearance alone.2009-08-11August 11 20092009-08-11A photograph inside a temple-like shrine room with a polished granite floor. A man with long dark hair in an orange saffron robe kneels on a red cushion, reaching toward a small white box with a red and orange label, while an elder sadhu with a long white beard, white forehead marks, orange robe and beaded necklaces sits on a raised red cushion and extends his hand toward the same box. Behind them stands a gold framed deity murti or portrait garlanded with colourful flower and tinsel garlands, with a brass lamp-like ritual object and a golden panel nearby.
