April 14 20182018-04-14A photograph of a crowd of devotees in saffron and orange robes gathered closely around a seated figure in the foreground. A man with long curly hair and a full beard in an orange cloth bows forward, reaching out with his hands toward offerings held by a person in red and gold clothing on the right. Another man in an orange wrap stands behind him with white hair and beard. On the far right a figure in orange and red robes wears a gold-and-beaded necklace and a microphone headset, while a bearded man with tripundra marks on his forehead stands in the background. Red and white draped fabric decorates the tent behind them, and red flowers and fruit appear at the lower right.2016-01-03A photograph of a devotional offering in a covered hall with a corrugated metal roof. In the foreground a man in a white shirt holds a silver tray of red apples. Beside him a man in orange robes and an orange head wrap smiles and reaches toward the tray. A woman in a red and gold sari stands behind him. On the right, a figure in orange sannyasi-style cloth with a white flower garland bows low over another tray of apples. Other men in white shirts and orange-robed devotees, some with white and red tilak marks, stand nearby, and a man is photographing the scene from behind.2012-05-08Photograph of a ritual exchange in a gold-decorated hall. A bare-shouldered figure in a rust-orange turban and orange-and-gold garment, wearing layered white and orange flower garlands, rudraksha bead bracelets and gold armlets, holds a ripe banana toward a kneeling man in a white collared shirt, who bows his head and reaches for the offering. Behind them, women in white and cream saris with rudraksha malas stand with hands folded in reverence, and a gold kalasha-style lamp stand is visible at left. Appearance cues of the turbaned figure are suggestive but the face is not clearly visible, so the identity is uncertain.2015-08-22A seated figure in a red-orange turban and reddish-brown robe, wearing a white flower garland and multiple red-beaded bracelets, hands a whole orange to a kneeling bald man in a white t-shirt on green artificial grass. Oranges fill a wooden tray and basket in front, with rudraksha-style beads visible in a compartment. Green potted plants, rocks and a yellow-draped altar with gold necklaces stand behind. Two women in white and a woman in a red-and-gold patterned sari stand watching in the background. A seated person in a turban and robe, with long hair, is a probable Swamiji by appearance cues including the turban, rudraksha-style beads and ceremonial garland; the kneeling man is a devotee.2015-01-30Annadhan in 20082009-01-01A seated figure in a tiger-striped saffron-and-black garment with a white bead necklace sits at left, gesturing toward a bowl of red apples held by a bare-chested man in white dhoti with orange-yellow border, sacred ash on his forehead, rudraksha mala and a bead necklace. Behind them, a standing group of men in white with red shawls and a seated man in white with a red shawl and mala watch. A woman with light hair sits at right edge, hand raised. A brass vessel and a rope coil rest on a dark wooden tray, with a small brass deity figure at lower left. The man in a grey t-shirt holds a small yellow-green fruit in both hands. Behind them a woman in white with a red-and-black beaded shawl and a dark mala stands, and other attendees in orange and white move in the background. Gold-framed decor and a warm-lit hall surround them. The scene suggests a darshan or blessing exchange.2015-07-21April 28 20162016-04-28Night outdoor event with a seated figure in orange robes and a leopard-print shawl, with long swept-back dark hair and a gold-toned necklace, receiving offerings. He extends his right hand toward a devotee kneeling on the right in orange robes with a maroon shawl and a white bandage on the forehead, who holds a fruit in cupped hands. Fruit, a bottle of water and chocolates sit on a tray in front. Behind them, women in white saris with yellow shawls stand with folded hands, and a crowd fills the dim background under strings of lights. Swamiji (probable) is the seated figure, identified by long swept-back hair, orange robes and leopard-print shawl with gold necklace, seated as the receiving teacher.2010-02-12A photograph of an outdoor temple shrine. A man with long swept-back dark hair and a red bindi wears an orange saffron robe and sits on a stone platform, holding a red apple while a woman in a patterned red-and-cream sari offers him a second apple. A shaved-headed man in white with an orange shawl stands at left, gesturing, while another man in white with a yellow shawl stands behind. Behind them is a golden ornate altar with marigold garlands, brass lamps and offering plates, and a white-bearded figure in orange robes, seemingly a statue or portrait, sits in the shrine.2010-07-08September 14 20152015-09-14
