A crowd of devotees gathers around a large orange-red Ganesha murti at the base of a tree on mossy stone, the idol draped in red and orange cloth, garlands and leaves. Women in saris and salwar kameez, some with kumkum on their foreheads, pray with folded hands or offer a steel plate of fruit and flowers. A young man in a white t-shirt stands in the foreground, and a figure in a blue shawl and maroon top stands at the left beside rising smoke.

Photograph of a riverside immersion procession at a red-walled ghat. In the water, several devotees in white dhotis and kurtas stand waist-deep, pushing or lifting a wooden frame with a wide flat base; one bald man in a saffron-orange robe stands in the centre of the group. On the left, a large pink and white clay deity murti of Ganesha with a crown-like headdress is carried on a shoulder while a bare-headed devotee in orange holds it. Spectators in white and cream saris sit on the steps, and a patterned umbrella stands at the upper right. A cameraman films from the left.

Outdoor riverside ritual on a stone ghat beside flowing water. A central figure in a red-orange turban and orange-red robe, with a long beaded garland and gold armband, sits behind a small silver puja stand holding a decorated deity murti with orange and red garlands. Before him, a robed attendant in orange kneels and offers a tray. Around them devotees sit and stand, many in red shawls, white and orange clothing, watching closely. Silver trident-topped staffs stand beside the platform, and a red-and-orange palanquin-style structure is at upper left. Puja items and flower offerings sit on a low table over the water.

Outdoor riverside ritual on a ghat, with a seated figure in an orange-red turban, orange-saffron robe and a heavy gold necklace and bangles, gesturing with both hands before a silver-framed deity murti and marigold garlands on a low wooden platform. Beside him a man in white kurta kneels or stands in the shallow water, and a seated man in grey vest and a seated bald man in orange sit nearby. Behind them a large crowd of devotees, many women in white with red and orange dupattas, sits and stands along steps and rails, with silver trident staffs (tridents) visible at left. Water and floating offerings are at the bottom of the frame. Not a deity or devotee text. Visible crowd of about 30 people.

Crowded interior of a dark stone shrine with a large brass-rimmed circular yoni-pitha base, a brass kalasha vessel and flower offerings at its centre. A bare-chested man in white dhoti stands near the centre, and a man in orange kurta with a red-trimmed white shawl stands behind the railing. A woman in a red and gold sari with folded hands stands among devotees, a seated figure in a red shirt with garlands sits by the railing, and an older man in beige kurta sits beside it. Around them devotees in orange, saffron and white garments press close against a steel railing, several with folded hands, while a brass vessel is set on the basin. Walls are weathered grey stone with patterned tiles along the left edge.

Dense ritual gathering seated on the ground. A person on the left wears a red turban, a white flower garland, a gold pendant necklace and red-orange robes, sitting beside an ornate silver throne-like seat, with a visible tilak. Around them devotees in white and red-orange shawls with rudraksha-style beads hold brass lamps, small silver bowls and aarti plates, some performing padapuja and pouring offerings. Several men in saffron and orange robes press palms together in the background, and a microphone is visible. A rope barrier separates the seated group from the crowd.

Outdoor riverside gathering at a ghat beside flowing water. A man in an orange-red turban, gold necklaces and bangles, with a saffron-orange wrap, sits with hands joined in prayer on a raised wooden platform draped in red. Before him stands an ornate silver-framed deity murti decorated with marigold garlands, with brass puja vessels, a kalasha-like pot and a white flower garland nearby. Behind him, saffron-clad sannyasis and seated devotees, many in red and orange shawls, face the platform with trishula-topped staffs rising behind them. A man in a grey vest assists at the left and a standing man in a light blue shirt watches at right. Seated devotees fill the steps behind the crowd. Appearance-based candidate Swamiji (probable) is seated centrally in the turban and gold jewellery, performing puja.

Outdoor riverside ritual at a ghat on the Ganges in Haridwar, with a crowd of devotees standing and seated along the stone steps above the water. On a low wooden platform at the water's edge, a man in saffron robes bends forward to tend a brass and silver puja setup, with a small silver shrine holding a deity murti decorated with marigold garlands. Seated beside it, a man in orange and red dhoti with a red turban, gold necklaces and a rudraksha mala holds his hands together in devotion, with another seated monk in red robes beside him. Several long silver-tipped trident staffs stand upright in the foreground, and an orange-wrapped red chariot or palanquin is visible behind the crowd. Women in saris and salwar kameez and men in white and blue shirts watch from the steps.

A photograph of an outdoor devotional scene beneath a large leafy tree. A golden deity murti stands on a red-painted base, draped in garlands of white, yellow and purple flowers with an orange cloth at its shoulder, and offerings such as plates of food and white cloth packets are placed at its foot. A bald man in a white dhoti and an unbuttoned white shirt with a yellow shawl stands at the shrine, facing it. Around him, a crowd of devotees pays respects: a girl in a green dress with her hands folded, a woman in an orange blouse, a girl in pink and a woman in a yellow top, and men in white and dark shirts waiting behind them. Several devotees stand in line under the shade.
