Five flames rise from the shallow earthen cups, lighting the rim of the tray. Behind the tray, two partly visible arms with bangles and a figure in a white shirt are reaching toward the lamps, as if offering or lighting them. The overall mood is a nighttime lamp offering at a temple, consistent with a deepam lighting. No face or identifiable a person figure is clearly visible.2006-12-04Three small flames burn on a dark, dusty stone or brick surface at night, lit as oil lamps or small wicks with a warm orange glow. The lamps are scattered across the ground with no people visible.2013-09-05A small lit oil lamp or diya floats on the rippling surface of a river at dusk, its flame glowing orange against the dark water. No identifiable face or figure of the a person is visible, and the scene shows a river offering rather than a named ritual.2006-06-04November 12 20102010-11-12A blurred photograph of a bright orange flame rising from the lower centre, reflected in dark rippling water with glittering orange highlights across the surface. Along the lower left edge a wooden or metal railing is faintly visible. No people are visible; the scene appears to be an evening or night river offering with a lamp or fire flame set against the reflective water.2006-06-04Close view of many lit clay oil lamps (diyas) with bright flames, set in round woven bamboo trays with radiating straw patterns on the ground. Warm orange light fills the frame. No people are visible; the scene shows only the lamps and trays, consistent with Karthigai Deepam lamp lighting.2017-12-02 +1 copies
