A photograph of ashram construction work at an unfinished concrete building. In the foreground, a man in a checked shirt and grey trousers bends over a patch of wet grey concrete, troweling it with a small hand tool. A woman in a red headscarf and maroon sari stands behind him. A long wooden-handled tool leans against the wall to the left. Beyond the doorway, a sandy path runs between palm trees, with a few children and a stone sculpture visible in the distance.2007-05-21A construction site photographed through black steel frame bars. In the foreground, a freshly excavated trench of reddish-brown soil runs between a low concrete block wall with a corrugated sheet roof on the left and a mound of dug earth on the right. Two men walk along the trench: one in a red-brown wrap and a straw-coloured hat, the other in a white shirt and grey trousers, with a white cap. Behind them are scattered grey stone blocks, a large cut stone slab, a pale cylindrical pipe lying on the ground, and dense green trees and palms.2007-05-19A young worker in a light grey-white button-up shirt and dark trousers stands on a concrete ledge, holding a shallow round tray of grey wet mortar or cement in both hands. Behind him a second worker in a blue shirt is partly visible at the right edge, beside a wooden pole. The setting is an open, dry, half-built site with low cylindrical white bollards, young trees, a distant white multi-storey building with red roofs, and a pale concrete wall in the foreground. No ritual, deity or a person depiction is visible.2010-01-26A worker in a flat cap, grey trousers and a faded red-and-white checked shirt stands on a concrete slab at a construction site, using a hoe or trowel to spread wet grey concrete. The ground is bare red earth with sparse dry grass.2007-05-27A photograph of a temple construction site where workers mix and spread wet grey concrete on the ground. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and white dhoti, wearing glasses, shovels concrete with a flat metal trowel. Beside him a man in a white shirt and green checked lungi bends over the mix with a small trowel. On the right a man in a striped shirt and pink-and-white turban holds a shallow metal pan of gravel. Behind them other workers in white and in lungis, and a woman in an orange sari stands near wooden formwork and a blue drum. Piles of sand and red earth surround the site.2006-12-09A photograph of a construction site under a clear blue sky, with palm trees and steel poles in the background. Three workers push and steer a grey portable concrete mixer with a large dark steel drum. The worker in the foreground wears a checked shirt and a blue-and-white checked lungi, and the worker beside him wears a green lungi and a red cap. Fresh wet concrete lies on the ground, and sandbags are stacked at right alongside a blue plastic drum. Bamboo structures and a shaded area with a cloth are visible behind.2006-12-19January 26 20102010-01-26December 19 20092009-12-19A photograph of a construction site where three men mix and spread wet concrete on the ground. The man on the left, in a white shirt and white dhoti with glasses and a tilak on his forehead, leans forward over the mix. The man in the center wears a white shirt and a green-and-yellow checked lungi and uses a flat metal trowel to scoop grey concrete from a metal tray. The man on the right wears a striped white shirt, a white dhoti and a pink-and-white checked head cloth, and stands bent over the mixture. Sand heaps, scattered bricks and a wooden frame sit around them, and other workers and a woman in an orange sari are visible in the background.2006-12-09A photograph of an outdoor construction site at dusk. Concrete columns with protruding rebar rise from a half-built structure of grey concrete blocks. In the foreground, a man in a white shirt, pale trousers and a white cap bends over a metal tray, mixing or scooping wet grey mortar on the ground. Beside him, a woman in a red and white patterned sari with a head covering carries material. A young man in a green shirt stands on a higher section behind them. A tarpaulin is draped over a column and a blue tarp lies at lower left. Flat open land with scattered trees and a white building stretches behind the site under a pale sky. No a person candidate is visible.2009-10-31Outdoor construction scene at a building site under a clear blue sky, with palm trees and tall wooden poles in the background. Three men are working on a stone structure of stacked dressed stone blocks. A man in a pale yellow checked shirt with an orange lungi and a gold-coloured wrist band stands at left with hands on hips. In the centre, a man in a white shirt bends forward and applies mortar or plaster with a trowel, a bowl of grey mixture nearby. At right, a man in a light pink shirt faces the stonework. A plastic water bottle and a green container sit on the stones, and loose stone pieces lie on the ground at left.2006-12-19A young man in a teal and blue checked short-sleeved shirt works at a construction site, using a trowel or tool to smooth wet mortar along the top edge of stacked stone blocks.
