A large yellow tarpaulin sheet is stretched over a bamboo and metal scaffold against a pale sky. Several men climb a metal ladder up the side of the tarp. A long-haired figure in an orange-saffron shawl over a bare upper body stands near the top of the ladder, with a man in white ritual clothing and orange shawls climbing below them. Behind them, a figure in grey clothing stands at the very top edge of the tarp. Other men in white dhoti-style clothes and orange shawls stand at the base, holding the railing. The scene appears to be a construction or setup area with bamboo poles and yellow canvas.2006-11-27November 27 20062006-11-27November 27 20062006-11-27November 27 20062006-11-27Photo 111696202006-10-06A night-time photograph under a white tarpaulin at a stone construction site, with a wooden ladder and a fluorescent tube light on the right. A tall standing man in a long orange robe, barefoot, with long dark hair, stands on a stone ledge while looking down. Beside him a man in white clothes with an orange shawl kneels and bends over a large carved stone block. Behind them a man in white with an orange shawl stands, and another man in orange sits at left among stone blocks. In the foreground a small brass kalasha-like object with a dome stands on a red cloth with tassels. The scene suggests a stone carving or temple construction work. Four to five people are visible.2006-12-10A photograph of a large green-painted Shiva linga being bathed with liquids at an outdoor rooftop site surrounded by unfinished concrete buildings and scaffolding. A man in an orange saffron robe and rudraksha-style beads stands on a steel staircase platform, leaning forward to pour liquid from a brass vessel onto the linga. Two men in white dhotis with red-bordered cloth stand on the stairs behind him, one holding a brass pot and the other holding a small vessel. The linga has silver-patterned bands around its base with yellow turmeric-like stains, and the sky is overcast white.2010-10-22 +1 copiesA photograph of an outdoor abhishekam at a large green-coated Shivalinga. A devotee in an orange saffron robe with a beaded mala leans over the top of the linga and pours liquid from a golden kalasha pot. Another man in white dhoti and a red-bordered shawl stands on a metal staircase platform beside a row of brass pots. Yellow liquid streaks down the green linga, and a silver-banded base is visible at its foot. Unfinished concrete buildings with exposed rebar frame the background under an overcast sky.2010-10-22 +1 copiesA photograph of four men walking across an unfinished concrete rooftop surrounded by low breeze-block walls, with wooden poles standing along the edges and a clear sky with distant trees behind. In the foreground a man in white dhoti and shirt, with an orange shawl and a pendant necklace, holds a bamboo pole and walks past a coiled white hose on the floor. Behind him two men in white clothes with orange shawls follow. On the right, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron robe, an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala, and walks barefoot with his hands held before him. A fifth figure in white is partly visible behind. The setting is a rural building site.2006-11-23A photograph of three men standing on sandy ground at a construction site with rebar rods upright behind them and trees in the background. The central figure wears a flowing saffron-orange robe, bare-chested with long swept-back dark hair, and holds a metal walking stick; he is a Swamiji (probable) by his long hair, saffron robe and bare chest, though the identification is uncertain. To his left an older man in a white kurta and white dhoti with an orange shawl touches his mouth, and to the right a younger man in white with an orange shawl looks down. Mounds of red earth lie at left.2006-09-21March 26 20172017-03-26December 16 20092009-12-16
