March 26 20172017-03-26March 26 20172017-03-26A photograph of a seated young man in saffron-orange robes on a gold-carved throne with a lion-face motif and red cushion, wearing rudraksha malas and a gold chain with a pendant, forehead marked with white tilak. Behind him, three young men in orange garments and rudraksha beads stand in an attendant role, one with a gold chain. Two people with dark hair in the foreground, one in a white-patterned top and one in yellow, face the throne. A gold umbrella with beaded fringe hangs at the upper right, within an ashram-style setting with purple drapery. A seated young man in ceremonial dress is a candidate for a person (unsure) based on appearance cues: rudraksha malas, saffron robes and ornate gold necklace, but the appearance is not conclusive enough to confirm identity.2017-03-26A photograph of a seated young man in orange saffron robes and rudraksha malas on a gold-carved throne with a red cushioned seat, speaking and gesturing with one hand toward seated attendees. Behind him, three young men in orange robes and gold necklaces stand, one with arms crossed and white tripundra markings on his forehead. A gold and yellow umbrella with beaded fringe hangs above the throne. Two women with dark hair, one in a white patterned top and one in a yellow blouse, are seen from behind in the foreground. The setting is an indoor hall with maroon drapes and a blue painted wall.2017-03-26A photograph of a seated young man in saffron-orange robes on a red velvet cushioned bench before two ornate gold throne-backs carved with lion faces. He wears layered rudraksha malas, a gold chain and white tilak on his forehead, and gestures with one hand while speaking. Three other young men in orange robes stand behind him, one holding a gold-and-yellow umbrella with beaded fringe. Two women in the foreground, one in green and one in a patterned blue top, sit with their backs to the camera facing him. The seated man's long hair and adornments are distinctive, but identity is uncertain from appearance alone, so he is described by role as a speaker seated on a throne. Background includes a red curtain and a deity figure.2017-03-26October 26 20102010-10-26A photograph of a decorated golden palanquin or ratha during a procession, draped with orange and marigold garlands and hanging tassels in red, pink, blue and purple, with a brass bell at the upper left. A man with long swept-back dark hair and a saffron/orange shawl over an orange dhoti sits on the throne, smiling and holding a rudraksha mala, with a tilak on his forehead; the appearance is consistent with a person on a palanquin during the Kumbha Mela procession, though the identity is uncertain. Beside him, a shaved-headed young man in an orange wrap and rudraksha malas bends forward and touches the seated man's bare foot in reverence.2013-02-10November 07 20102010-11-07Photograph of a seated ritual gathering in front of an ornate gold throne with carved lion-face motifs and a latticed gold panel. In the foreground a young man in a white dhoti with gold borders, wearing a long gold-bead and rudraksha mala and a white forehead marking, gestures with his hands while seated cross-legged. Behind him a man with long dark hair wrapped in a bun and an orange cloth sits with eyes closed, and another person in orange robes with a jeweled hair ornament sits nearby. A figure in a white dhoti with gold borders sits with his back to the camera at the right, and a glass barrier runs across the lower frame.2017-07-25A seated man in saffron-orange robes with a bare shoulder, a rudraksha mala and a white vibhuti mark on his forehead sits on a gold-carved throne, holding a small object in his hand while facing three men standing before him. Two of the standing men wear orange turbans and orange robes; one holds a small yellow book. A second throne behind him holds a woman in orange and red clothing with a floral garland and gold ornaments. The backdrop is red draped cloth. a person: the seated man in orange with rudraksha mala and vibhuti mark, on the gold throne.2013-02-06Photograph of a seated ritual gathering in an ornate golden setting with embossed lion reliefs. In the foreground a woman in a rust-red turban with gold trim and a dark red shawl sits with eyes closed, wearing rudraksha beads. Behind her two young men in saffron-orange cloth with rudraksha malas and gold necklaces sit with tilak on their foreheads and crescent ornaments in their hair; one has eyes closed and the other looks sideways.
