A man in white dhoti and white kurta, wearing a yellow marigold garland, sits feeding an offering into the fire with his right hand. Beside him a woman in an orange-and-maroon sari with a yellow garland sits with hands folded in her lap, and at right a woman in a gold sari with a yellow garland tends the fire. Behind them, seated devotees in white and maroon garments, many wearing yellow garlands, witness the ritual. Four or five people are visible.2009-12-26Night ritual scene at an outdoor altar with a bright fire pit (homa/yagna) in the centre. Two officiants bend over the flames, offering into the fire: a bare-chested man on the left wears a white dhoti with green and gold border and a white head cloth, and a woman on the right wears a maroon and gold sari with a white dhoti-style drape. Behind them stands a golden ornate throne-like frame holding a deity murti decorated with garlands, necklaces and marigold strings, with a teal backdrop. Brass vessels, kalasha-style pots, flower offerings with red and white blossoms, and oil lamps surround the fire. Several people in red and orange robes stand in the background at the right, and a green banana plant and a red-and-gold hanging decorate the edges.2015-08-09A woman in a cream saree with a dark red border and a man in white ritual clothes, both wearing white jasmine garlands, stand over a fire built of stacked clay bricks. The woman, wearing glasses, sprinkles grain or offerings from her hands into the flames while the man leans in beside her. A brass bowl with a long handle sits near the fire, and a seated person in maroon robes is visible at the right edge beside a steel vessel. The setting is a hall with a dim background, consistent with a homa fire ritual.2013-05-12December 26 20082008-12-26 +1 copiesFebruary 09 20122012-02-09September 16 20132013-09-16
