September 02 20112011-09-02Outdoor temple ritual under a large tent roof hung with colourful paper lanterns and streamers. A tall copper dhvaja or flagstaff with a decorated base and a garland of white and yellow flowers stands on a red platform. A bearded man with long hair in an orange dhoti and shawl stands beside the pole, holding a garland, while another orange-clad attendant with long hair works at the base. A shirtless man in a dhoti stands nearby with a bare chest and ornaments. Several onlookers in casual clothes watch from the side, and offerings of marigolds and rose petals lie on a table. Palm trees and a red-roofed structure appear behind. The scene looks like a flag-hoisting or dvajarohanam ceremony.2016-11-29 +1 copiesSeptember 02 20112011-09-02October 07 20102010-10-07A tall copper flagstaff rises against a clear blue sky, topped with a tiered copper finial and a red-and-white cloth streamer. A second orange-robed figure is partly visible behind the base. Under a large corrugated metal roof, strings of orange triangular pennants hang overhead, and palm trees line the background. Several devotees in white and orange clothing sit at the right edge. A red-orange temple building and a stone-carved deity figure appear at left and lower right.2010-10-18 +1 copiesDecember 18 20132013-12-18Outdoor photo beneath a corrugated metal canopy under a clear blue sky.
