A photograph outside a white concrete building with a corrugated roof and barred window. A man in a sleeveless orange robe with long dark hair reaches up toward a tall metal flagpole, from which strings of orange plastic pennants printed with a purple bird emblem and the word NITHYANANDAPEETAM hang along the wall. A woman in a white sari with a gold border stands with hands joined beside the pole, and a crowd of women in colourful saris and men in white shirts watches. A banana plant and a ladder lean against the wall, and a pennant bunting stretches across the courtyard under a pale sky.
