December 31 20182018-12-31A photograph of three ornately decorated metal murti figures seated on a throne in a temple shrine. The central figure wears a tall crown with a tilak, jeweled necklaces and a gold-and-stone armlet, and is draped in garlands of yellow marigolds and purple flowers. The figure to the left wears a brown turban with blue jewels, a long rudraksha-style mala and a brown-and-gold shawl, and the figure to the right wears a tall jeweled crown. Red velvet drapery and gold-framed mirror work with inlaid stones form the backdrop. These are deity murtis, not living people.2016-12-12Close view of three seated golden deity murtis on a red draped altar in a temple shrine, decorated with yellow and purple flower garlands. The central figure wears an ornate jeweled crown with a gold and red-stone breastplate and necklaces. The figure on the left has long black hair, a rust-orange turban, a beaded brown mala and jeweled ornaments. The figure on the right wears a tall jeweled crown and a gold necklace. Behind them are a gold arch and mirrored blue panels. A few flowers and ornate gold decoration frame the scene.2016-12-12October 06 20112011-10-06Three statues stand together on a decorated altar before a tiled wall. Left, a figure in a brown turban, bejewelled necklaces and a saffron-brown garment holds a hand in a blessing gesture; a statue labelled as a portrait is not visible, so this is a statue of a sage. Centre, a deity murti with a tall ornate crown, layered gold jewellery and a white dhoti stands on a pedestal with raised hands. Right, a female deity murti wears a tall crown, pearl-and-gem necklaces and a purple garment. Yellow marigold and red rose garlands frame all three figures, and a silver plate of offerings sits at the base beside a bundle of flowers on a purple cloth.2014-06-28 +1 copiesJanuary 08 20152015-01-08Three gold-metal deity murtis are displayed together on a decorated altar, framed by a gilded arch. The central figure wears an ornate gold crown, a jewelled silver-and-gold garment and gold armlets, with a mint-green gem at the chest. Flanking figures wear gold crowns and necklaces. All three are draped in garlands of yellow marigolds, red roses and purple flowers, with green leaves. Gold brocade and a patterned cloth sit below.2015-11-24Three ornately decorated statues stand against a beige tiled wall, draped with garlands of yellow marigolds, red roses, white jasmine and pink flowers. The central figure is a deity murti in white and gold ornate dress with a tall jewelled crown, many necklaces and raised hand. To its left stands a statue in a rust-brown turban and brown-red robe with a large blue gemstone pendant and a rudraksha-style mala. To its right stands a smaller statue in a purple and gold jewelled garment with a crown of flowers and a raised hand. No living people are visible; the figures are statues in a shrine-like setting.2014-06-28 +1 copiesJanuary 08 20152015-01-08A large deity murti, dark-faced and richly decorated, stands at the centre of a temple setting, framed by a tall arched garland of red, orange, white, yellow and purple flowers with green leaves. The figure wears an ornate white and gold embroidered garment, a jewelled crown-like headdress, and layered gold and beaded necklaces. Flanking it on the left is a smaller painted deity figure with a bejewelled crown and a red-and-orange pennant bearing a white dove emblem, and on the right a second figure in yellow flower garlands with a decorated headdress. A maroon and gold umbrella stands beside the central murti, and draped gold and red cloth hangs behind. Stone temple pillars with carved detailing form the backdrop. This appears to be a festival puja or procession decoration.2017-01-11 +1 copiesFebruary 17 20162016-02-17 +1 copiesNovember 30 20122012-11-30
