A seated man on an ornate gold throne with carved armrests and a red cushion speaks and smiles, gesturing with his right hand, while wearing a red-and-gold dhoti, a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace, and a headset microphone. Two men sit beside him on gold chairs: one in a white dhoti and red shawl with hands folded, the other in white with a red-and-gold shawl, clapping, with a rudraksha mala. At right, a woman in cream and gold sari smiles, partly obscured by green foliage. Behind them stands a painted forest backdrop, and at left a gold deity murti adorned with garlands sits on a gold seat near bamboo-like panels and palms. A small red-and-gold cloth-covered stool sits at the front. Behind the throne a large painted backdrop shows a banyan tree with hanging aerial roots. A man in a maroon shirt and khaki trousers stands at the throne's side, reaching out to clasp the seated figure's hand. A second figure in a saffron robe stands at left, and a woman in a white sari with a yellow shawl walks at right. A small table holds fruit. Photo is from the page's archive of an event; the seated figure's identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2009-12-29December 29 20142014-12-29A seated man on an ornate gilded throne with a red cushioned seat sits centrally in a ceremonial hall hung with beaded curtains and tall brass lamps. He wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, a multi-strand rudraksha mala, a red tilak on his forehead, and gold armbands; his hands rest in his lap. Two women in orange saris sit on the floor at the right, one holding a small brass vessel, while a shaved-headed man in a white dhoti with red border sits at the left. Offerings of fruit and flowers lie on the throne platform and on a side table. This appears to be a pada puja; the seated figure's appearance is consistent with the a person cues of the saffron clothing, rudraksha mala and throne, and he is physically present.2011-02-28 +1 copies
