A man in a white kurta and white dhoti with an orange-saffron shawl stands at the left and reaches toward a golden deity murti of a seated figure with a crown and a standing female figure with an ornate headdress, set within a gilded shrine with carved pillars and a red curtain backdrop. A young boy in white kneels at the far left with palms pressed together in namaskar. A large metal vessel sits in the lower left foreground, and a small plant and white vehicle are visible outside the shrine. The scene appears to be a deity worship or puja at a temple shrine. The man's appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm a specific identity from visible cues alone, so the a person field is unsure.2006-10-20October 20 20062006-10-20October 20 20062006-10-20October 20 20062006-10-20A photograph of a priest in a white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl draped over one shoulder, reaching out to touch the forehead of a large golden metal statue of a deity seated beside a second golden statue. The left figure has a tall crown and bare upper body with ornate bracelets; the right figure is a goddess with a tall crown, elaborate necklaces and bangles, holding a small vessel. Red cloth hangings and carved wooden architecture frame the scene. The statues are not physical people and the priest is the only person visible, performing a puja-style blessing at a temple shrine.2006-10-20October 20 20062006-10-20October 20 20062006-10-202010 - Photo AlbumJune 24 20102010-06-24 +1 copiesOctober 19 20062006-10-19A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with a maroon border stands at left, holding a lit aarti lamp toward an ornate shrine. In front, a gold and red ornate throne-like seat holds a framed portrait of a man in saffron-toned clothing with garlands on the frame. A small brass kalasha and a fire of oil lamps or aarti flame sit on the floor, with a red box of offerings at lower right. The walls and pillars are carved grey stone, lit for evening puja.2010-10-04November 21 20102010-11-21
