A photograph of a large crowd of men and women standing and waiting in a hall with pale walls and doorways. In the foreground, a seated figure wrapped in a saffron-orange shawl with long dark hair faces away from the camera, while a man in a pink checked shirt and glasses sits at the left edge. Most people in the crowd wear white or light-coloured shirts and dhotis or trousers, and one woman wears a pink sari. Some people are holding umbrellas. The scene suggests a darshan or gathering line, with a white cloth draped across the bottom edge.Photograph of an evening gathering with a crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis, some with hands raised in greeting or folded in reverence. On the right, a long-haired figure in a bright orange turban and orange robe, with dark rudraksha mala beads around the neck, sits on a white-covered seat and extends one hand toward a younger man in orange with a red tilak and beads. A grey-haired man in a white shirt and beaded mala stands nearby. The figure's long swept hair, orange turban and orange robes match the appearance cues associated with Swamiji, so this is a probable identification based on appearance alone.2008-05-092004 - sacred collections uncategorisedNovember 16 20052005-11-16May 09 20082008-05-09Night outdoor gathering where a long-haired figure in an orange turban and sleeveless orange robe sits on a raised seat, reaching down to hold the hand of a bald, seated elderly man in white. Around them, a man in a maroon shirt bends forward and a man in white kneels beside a younger man in orange garments. A crowd of devotees, many in white and yellow clothes, stands behind under a white canopy. The orange-clad figure's visible cues (long swept hair, orange turban and robe) are consistent with a presentation of a person receiving devotees, rather than a verified identification.2008-05-092004 - sacred collections uncategorisedOctober 15 20082008-10-15A nighttime photograph of an outdoor gathering with bright stage lights overhead. On the right, a figure in an orange saffron robe and an orange turban, with long dark hair swept back, sits on a white-draped seat or platform, one hand extended toward the people in front. Ornate clothing and long hair are visible cues; the figure is an appearance-based a person. Seated before him are several men and a woman in a blue sari, one man in a yellow checked shirt gesturing with his hand, and a man in white in the foreground seen from behind. Standing behind them are rows of people in white clothes and volunteers with lanyards behind a barrier. A man on the left wears a white kurta and a beaded necklace. Roughly 20 people are visible.2008-05-09A dense crowd of devotees fills an indoor hall with white walls, barred windows and strings of fairy lights overhead. In the foreground, a man in orange robes and an orange turban with a white flower garland sits near a low wooden platform, his hands extended toward the crowd. To the right, a man with long swept-back hair, a grey beard, an orange shawl and beaded necklaces stands among others dressed in white. Many devotees in white dhotis and saris, some with folded hands, press forward. Looking at appearance alone, the man in orange with the turban and garland is a probable candidate for the a person described on the page, but the cues are not conclusive. The scene shows a darshan-style gathering with a seated figure receiving devotees. Around 60 to 80 people are visible.2007-01-12May 10 20082008-05-10July 20-26 2004
