February 08 20082008-02-08A dim tented food hall at an evening event, with a white canvas canopy and maroon draped fabric along the sides. Many people in white shirts and white dhotis or saris stand in a crowded queue around stainless steel containers and trays, taking food. A man in a checked shirt in the foreground holds a steel plate. Bright tube lights hang on the poles, and a small white banner with red text hangs at the left edge. A few people stand with folded hands near the centre. No clearly identifiable a person is visible in the scene, so the appearance is uncertain.2006-11-26A night-time communal meal line under a open-sided tent with striped red, yellow and white drapes and strings of lights overhead. A woman in a white sari with a long braid stands at the front ladling food from a large steel pot, and another woman in white ladles from a second pot beside her. Devotees queue with steel plates; a young man in a black shirt and rudraksha-style beaded necklace holds a plate of rice, and a man in a grey shirt stands at right. Several women wear saris in white, orange and green, and a row of steel vessels sits on a table at left.2006-12-23September 14 20062006-09-14December 16 20062006-12-16April 06 20122012-04-06Article - November 26 20062006-11-26A photograph of a crowded food distribution line under a canopy of poles with orange, purple and red cloth. Women in white, yellow-green and turquoise saris and men and boys in white shirts queue behind wooden railings while volunteers in white serve from steel vessels on a long counter at left. A woman in a white sari holds a steel plate and another carries a stack of plates. The setting appears to be an open-air hall with a sandy ground and low buildings in the background. Festival meal service is visible, though no a person appears in the frame.2009-01-01Night photograph of a long queue of devotees standing outdoors on a sandy ground under bright floodlights. Men and women wear white dhotis and shirts, pink, orange and yellow saris, and a red-and-white checked shirt. Several children stand in the line. Behind them a single-storey orange building, parked white vans, strings of small flags and a row of display boards are visible. Partially visible figures are standing further back in the crowd.2011-11-10February 28 20092009-02-28November 24 20062006-11-24 +2 copiesOutdoor food-distribution area under a canopy of red and orange umbrellas with fringed edges, with a large crowd behind. In the foreground, men in white shirts and trousers stand at a long green table and serve from metal containers, one holding a plate of food. A man in a red patterned shirt holds a plate, and a man in a white T-shirt with a logo stands at the right. Women in saris and a crowd of devotees fill the background. Fallen marigold petals litter the table. This looks like an annadan style meal service at a large gathering.2009-01-01
