Outdoor ceremony at dusk on bare ground. A person in saffron robes and a saffron turban, wearing a multicolour and white flower garland and a gold necklace, stands barefoot and smiles while holding a coconut above a ceremonial trident-like staff planted in the earth. Two men in white kurtas and dhotis, one with a checked shirt, bend low and assist, touching the staff; coconut halves lie on the ground with yellow saffron-dyed fibre, and red flowers hang at the robe. Behind them a crowd of men in white clothes, many wearing yellow and red rosette badges and rudraksha malas, watches under striped tent awnings and a dusky sky with power lines.

A man in saffron/orange robes and an orange turban stands under a red floral-patterned canopy, holding a long golden ceremonial rod or staff whose base sits in a mound of earth strewn with yellow and pink flowers and two coconuts. He wears a multicoloured flower garland and a gold chain, with eyes lowered in ritual focus. Beside him, a man in white dhoti and orange shawl holds a silver tray. Around them, several people in white shirts and dhotis stand with hands folded, and a woman in a cream saree with gold border and gold bangles presses her palms together. The scene suggests a bhoomi puja or groundbreaking ceremony in a tent.

Outdoor ground-breaking at a rocky hillside site. A figure in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange turban, wearing a rudraksha mala and a garland of white and yellow-orange flowers, holds a long wooden staff planted in the earth with eyes lowered. Three men in white and light shirts stand behind him with hands folded and heads bowed. Boulders and green shrubs fill the background, and coconut halves lie on the ground in the lower left, with a carved stone slab at the left edge. Whether the robed figure is the a person cannot be settled from appearance alone, so the role is given as a sannyasi. Visible people: four.

Night outdoor photograph of a groundbreaking or foundation ritual on bare red earth. A central figure in an orange saffron robe with an orange head wrap and a multicoloured flower garland drives a long metal rod or staff into the soil with both hands. Around him stand a crowd of men and women in white dhotis, shirts and saris, many with palms pressed together in namaskar. A bearded man in white with an orange shawl stands to the left, and a man on the right wears a rudraksha mala and a rainbow rosette badge. A tray of yellow and orange flowers is held at the left edge, and a dark cloth canopy with a banana leaf appears at upper right. Roughly 25 physical people are visible.

Outdoor groundbreaking ceremony on grassy land with scrub vegetation behind. A man in an orange-saffron shawl and orange turban, with a white flower garland, stands at left and watches. A white-clad man in a white shawl bends to hold a vertical wooden stake while another white-shirted man digs with a spade beside him. Several men in white and light shirts and trousers stand around observing the ceremony. The orange-clad figure appears in an orange turban and saffron garb, so the a person candidate is uncertain from appearance alone.

A young sapling with leaves stands in a ring of flowers and a small arrangement of fruit, lamps and offerings lies on a striped mat at left. Around them, men and women in white dhotis, white shirts and white saris stand with palms pressed together, and one man at right wears a white dhoti and grey shirt. Outdoor photo at dusk of a bare-earth ground at a ceremony. A central figure in an orange-red turban and matching orange-red robe, wearing a white, pink and purple flower garland and a gold pendant necklace, stands barefoot holding a coconut while a man in white shirt and white dhoti bends to pour or prepare offerings. A brass trident stands upright in the ground beside him, with several halved coconuts and yellow turmeric-coloured pieces scattered on the soil. A crowd of men in white shirts and white dhotis, some wearing yellow and red ribbon badges, stands around watching, and a kneeling man with hands pressed together sits at right. Colourful striped tents appear in the background under a cloudy sky.

Outdoor ground-breaking ceremony on bare red earth among leafless trees. A man in an orange saffron robe, orange turban, and a white-and-orange garland stands centre-right with palms pressed together, gesturing over a small mound of freshly dug soil. A tender green mango-leaf branch stands upright in the centre, surrounded by a circle of pink, yellow and white flower petals and marigolds, with brick-like stones and offering dishes nearby. Around him, several people in white dhotis and white shirts or saris stand with hands folded in prayer, including a woman in a white sari with a yellow border and a woman in a yellow-and-white sari. A metal tray of flowers, fruit and brass vessels sits on a white-draped table at left. Two patterned mats lie on the ground. Seven or so people are visible, and a few more stand at the edges.

Outdoor scene on a grassy field with wooded hills behind. A man with long dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron robe and a heavy gold necklace, stands at the centre, gesturing with one hand as he speaks. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts and one in a light-coloured striped shirt stand in a loose circle. In the foreground, a man in a striped shirt and a bare-footed man in white kneel over a clay vessel on the ground, apparently at a small ritual or cremation-related act. Several bystanders wear white traditional clothing and sandals, and one man holds a mobile phone to his ear.

Outdoor photograph of a bare-footed man in saffron-orange robes and an orange turban, wearing a multicoloured flower garland with a red flower tassel, scattering white and yellow flower petals over a metal rod or trident-like staff planted in the dirt ground. Coconut halves, one with white flesh and others with orange husks, lie around the base. A man in white dhoti and shirt holds a silver tray of flowers at left. Behind them, a crowd of men in white shirts and dhotis, some wearing yellow and red rosettes and identity lanyards, watch, while a man in the foreground kneels with hands folded in prayer. Striped tent canopies and a cloudy evening sky appear in the background. This appears to be a ritual offering or puja at an outdoor ceremony.
