Decorated kalasha-style pots with yellow fabric and pink flowers stand at left.2018-04-26 +1 copiesA photograph of a homa fire ceremony in a temple hall at night. A fire burns in a large square golden fire pit with patterned tiles, sending up smoke. A man in an orange-red turban, orange-red shawl, rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold necklace kneels on the right holding an open book and reading. Oil lamps stand beside the pit and marigold petals are scattered on a mat. Behind, several people in white clothes sit on mats, some near a drum. The figure matches the presentation of a person through the turban, orange robes and rudraksha beads, but this is an appearance-based label only, and he is described here as a priest leading the fire ritual.2015-11-18A photograph of a seated priest performing a fire ritual beside a yellow-painted brick fire pit with flames and a copper bowl set on top. A copper bowl with a ladle sits to the right, silver plates of red flowers lie to the left, and a wooded hillside with temple structures rises behind the water. Ash-white markings are visible on his arms, rudraksha beads hang around his neck, and a red sash is worn over the shoulder. The figure has shaved-to-matted hair and no visible cues sufficient to identify a specific person, so he is described by role only.2014-03-18A seated man in red-saffron clothing performs a homa at a yellow brick fire pit beside a fast-flowing river. He wears a red-orange turban, a long-beaded rudraksha mala and a gold-and-black pendant necklace, with a saffron shawl over bare shoulders. He holds a small ladle over the flames while reading from an open book on his lap. A brass bowl with a spoon and small metal vessels sit near the fire pit, with a white urn behind. White tilak marks decorate his forehead and arms, and a rope stretches across the riverbank behind him.2014-03-24A homa fire ceremony inside a pavilion with a red and white draped ceiling. Tall flames rise from a yellow-painted fire pit edged with white lines. Two young priests in saffron-orange dhotis and matching turbans sit at left; one feeds bundled sticks and the other pours from a bowl. A bare-chested figure in a grey-white ash-smeared appearance stands behind the flames with an orange turban, with flame glow around him. Behind them, several bare-chested men in white dhotis stand in the background, with a deity murti visible near the back, and a speaker stand at right.
