January 03 20122012-01-03A street scene in a village after a storm. A large leafless tree with broken branches dominates the centre, its trunk leaning across a row of concrete shopfronts. Beside it is a small shop with a yellow shutter and bright cloth goods and strings hanging at the front, and a two-storey building with a balcony to the left. A few people stand near the shop entrance, one in a white shirt and another carrying an orange bag, and a person in a khaki uniform is at the bottom right. Motorcycles are parked on the pavement, and a pile of debris sits at the far right.2012-01-06A street-side photograph of a plain, weathered two-storey concrete building with peeling cream and yellow walls, a raised flat roof with a metal railing, an external staircase, and an arched iron-grilled doorway. Laundry hangs on a line at left. In the foreground an empty concrete road, and at right a small turquoise kiosk-style structure with a small emblem. Overhead tangled wires and a utility pole. A few distant figures appear near the right edge, mostly obscured. No prominent ritual activity or identifiable person is the focus of the scene.A street scene in an Indian town. Three people in plain white dhotis and white shirts walk across a concrete road away from the camera, toward a green cylindrical structure on the right. Two women in red and orange saris stand at the right edge. A yellow multi-storey house with an external staircase, barred windows and a rooftop railing lines the left side, with laundry hanging on a balcony. Overhead tangled electric wires run across the grey sky and a street lamp stands on the right. The third walker and the dhoti-clad figures are not clearly identifiable as a person by appearance, so no candidate is recorded.May 14 20142014-05-14 +1 copiesA photograph taken from a distance of a large white temple gopuram, a towering tiered entrance tower decorated with sculpted figures, rising behind a bare dead tree in the foreground. Behind the tower is a long white multi-storey building with colonnaded balconies, scaffolding on the left side, and a billboard with a colourful image on its facade. Green bushes and a red earth mound sit in the lower left and centre, with a blue metal railing along the bottom edge. The sky is pale grey and overcast. No people are visible.2008-09-04February 02 20092009-02-02A photograph of a two-storey orange and white house facade with wrought-iron balconies and window air-conditioning units, seen from street level under a partly cloudy sky. A banana plant with green bunches stands at the right edge. Below, a shopfront with a signboard and colourful Tamil-language signage faces the street, and several people stand near the doorway, including a man in a dark shirt and women in saris at the edge of the frame.2014-06-27March 03 20072007-03-03A photograph of a walkway between two-storey cream and pale-yellow ashram buildings with pink and red pillars, arched balconies and ornamental lattice panels. Four people walk along the path: a figure in orange robes on the left near the steps, a woman in an orange sari, and two men in white kurtas with orange shawls, one carrying a dark bag. Trees and a green area stand at the right. No figure is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance.2008-07-10January 23 20102010-01-23January 10 20092009-01-10
