A photograph of a ritual scene in a dim hall. A priest in a rust-red turban with gold border and a rust-red dhoti with gold edging sits cross-legged, bare-chested, with a long rudraksha mala and an orange-gold shawl, holding thin dry sticks in his hands. White ash markings are painted on his arms and forehead. Beside him is a polished silver bowl with a ladle and yellow flower garlands, and in the background a man in white clothes and a red beaded necklace sits near a gold-coloured cabinet. A second ritual participant in red and gold clothing is partly visible at left.2014-09-06December 09 20132013-12-09A man in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange draped robe sits at a low altar beside an open flame. He wears clear-framed glasses, a long mala of dark and gold beads with a gold pendant, and a bracelet of dark beads. Ash markings are on his forehead and upper arm. He holds a small ladle over the fire, with a brass vessel to the left and a printed booklet at right. A dark background with a red pillar and a hanging yellow-and-teal textile. Appearance suggests a person (saffron turban, ornate gold-and-bead mala, ceremonial fire), but the identification is uncertain, so this is a priest or sannyasi performing a fire ritual.2015-11-18A man in a red-orange turban and matching draped cloth performs an evening ritual beside a fire. He wears a heavy gold bead necklace, rudraksha-style beads on the upper arm, gold earrings and a red tilak on his forehead, while holding a small brass oil lamp with a lit wick in one hand and a metal vessel in the other. Bright flames rise from a brass bowl in the foreground, consistent with a homa or puja fire, and a partly visible figure in orange sits at the left edge against a dark background. The man appears to be a priest performing the rite rather than a depicted or distinctively identified figure.2014-01-05September 06 20142014-09-06 +1 copiesSeptember 17 20172017-09-17 +1 copiesJuly 02 20162016-07-02A photograph of a shaved-headed man in a rust-orange robe with a gold-bordered yellow shawl, seated cross-legged behind a low yellow-painted altar table. He wears a long rudraksha mala with a gold necklace and gold earrings, and has white tilak marks on his forehead. He gestures with his right hand while his left hand rests on the table, with a microphone on a stand before him. Brass bowls, a spouted brass vessel, a bundle of dry sticks, a potted plant and a lit oil lamp sit on the table, and a gold-painted cart stands behind him.2014-11-25January 28 20132013-01-28A photograph of a Hindu ritual at night in a plain hall. In the foreground a shaven-headed man in orange robes with a rudraksha mala and white tilak marks on his forehead and arms holds a lit taper toward an unseen flame, his other arm extended. Behind him an older man in white dhoti with a red-bordered cloth and a beaded mala sits and lights a small lamp. A brass plate with flowers and small oil lamps sits on a red cloth in front. Two people are visible, with a partially visible third at the bottom edge. The setting suggests a pada puja ritual.2010-11-18 +1 copiesA ritual scene at night: a priest in an orange-red turban and orange-red dhoti stands bare-chested behind a yellow cloth-draped table stacked with yellow blocks, with brass vessels and an oil lamp above.
