Four female dancers in green silk saris with red-and-gold borders perform kneeling on a red-draped stage, hands held in anjali mudra. Each wears white flowers in her hair, gold jewellery and bangles. Small brass or copper offering trays sit near the stage edge, and a red and white draped backdrop hangs behind them. Framed portraits hang on the wall above. Audience members in the foreground are seen from behind, including a bald man in white. The scene suggests an evening cultural programme.2011-12-11March 10 20132013-03-10A classical Indian dance performance on a green-carpeted stage before red and white draped curtains. In the centre, a dancer in a white dhoti with a blue and gold sash kneels, with another dancer behind them raising arms in a sculptural pose. Two framed portraits hang above the stage: the left shows a figure in orange clothing holding a microphone, and the right shows a figure in saffron robes with a long garland; these are depictions on framed prints, and no identity is asserted from appearance. Several audience members are visible at the bottom edge, and a man stands at the far left edge of the stage.2011-12-11A photograph of a stage performance in a tent-like venue with red and white draped curtains and a colourful scalloped canopy overhead.
