Photo of a crowded temple-style hall during a Navaratri celebration. A man with long dark hair, wearing a red garment and a flower garland, sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne with a red tiger-striped cushion and blesses a woman in a dark garment by touching her head. Devotees crowd around, including an older woman in a pink sari, a younger woman in a yellow outfit with white flowers in her hair, a man in a light blue shirt with an ID lanyard, and a young man in a blue AIC T-shirt. A saffron-clad devotee stands nearby, and a large framed portrait with garlands hangs behind the throne. A fan and gold ritual items are visible.2008-10-07A crowded indoor temple-style hall where devotees gather around a golden throne draped in red fabric and decorated with marigold garlands. A person with long dark hair wearing a red top stands on the right, reaching toward the throne. Nearby, a man in an orange shawl and white dhoti, and a young man in an orange shawl and dark sash, stand among others. Older devotees reach forward with outstretched hands, and a woman in a yellow sari with a white flower in her hair is in the foreground. Behind the throne hangs a large printed portrait of a figure with long hair and a beaded necklace, and a golden decorative backdrop is visible; a small oil lamp and floral offerings sit on the throne.2008-10-07July 17 20082008-07-17A seated man with long, swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron wrap and a thick rudraksha mala with a gold-toned ornamental necklace, places his right hand on the head of a kneeling devotee in a white kurta with a red ceremonial cord and rudraksha beads, who has his palms joined. Behind them a woman in a white sari with red border sits beside a second woman in red and gold, and other attendees in red, green and white stand nearby with a pedestal fan and red cloth in the background. The scene suggests a diksha initiation blessing. Swamiji (probable): the seated man's long hair, orange wrap and rudraksha mala match the page's presentation cues, and he is the one blessing the kneeling devotee.2016-05-06April 27 20162016-04-27A photo of a darshan event in a decorated hall with gold and floral backdrops. A long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold pendant leans forward, placing a hand on a seated devotee's head. Around him, saffron-clad young men wearing orange shawls and garlands stand nearby, while devotees in white and other clothes bow or sit, including an elderly woman in a white sari and a child. Patterned banners hang on the pillars behind.2008-07-17July 17 20082008-07-17Crowded indoor darshan scene before an ornate gilded golden throne with red cushions and floral decorations. A long-haired man in orange robes and a gold necklace, seated on the throne, reaches forward toward a child, while a bald man in orange stands beside him holding a tray of fruit. Devotees in white and cream kurtas and shirts crowd around, some with their hands raised, including a young boy in orange and a small child in pink. Fruit offerings, orange and yellow flowers and a decorated striped pillar frame the scene.2008-07-17A seated man with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron robe, rudraksha beads and a gold necklace, extends his right hand to bless the head of a devotee bowing before him. Nearby, a shaved-headed young monk in orange robes and beaded mala stands beside him, while a man in white clothes with an orange garland and an older man in white shirt and mala watch with folded hands. Behind them, a hall with patterned hangings and orange-draped seating holds more standing devotees in white. The long-haired figure's cues (hair, saffron robe, rudraksha, gold necklace) are distinctive, so this is a probable Swamiji, giving his blessing in person.2008-07-17A seated man with long, swept-back dark hair and a bare chest wears saffron-orange cloth and a gold pendant necklace, extending his right hand toward a woman who bows with folded hands. Around him a crowd of devotees in orange, white and green saris and shawls gathers under a tent with decorated pillars and gold drapes. A standing man in white with an orange shawl and a younger man in saffron with a gold garland stand nearby. The setting suggests a darshan gathering.2008-07-17July 07 20092009-07-07May 11 20162016-05-11
