A bare-backed priest in an orange dhoti with a sacred thread and garlands stands with his back to the camera, facing a deity murti on the left, which is draped in red, yellow and white flower garlands. A man in white dhoti and shawl stands with hands folded beside him, and a woman in a white sari with gold border holds a small child in white. Behind them a crowd in white clothing watches, some with hands raised in reverence, and red and white flags hang from a palm-leaf canopy lit by a bright light. No clearly identifiable a person candidate is visible in this frame.2018-12-30December 12 20162016-12-12Photograph inside an ornate golden temple hall where a standing golden deity murti dressed in a green sari with a gold crown and a garland of red, yellow, green and white flowers stands at centre. Six people stand in front of it: five women and one bare-chested man. The women wear white saris with gold borders and gold or beaded necklaces; one at centre wears a peach blouse with a white sari and glasses, and her hands are folded in namaste. A man on the right wears a white-and-orange turban, a gold necklace and a white dhoti, with hands folded in namaste. Two conical flower arrangements in pink, purple, green and white sit at the front, along with a brass oil lamp and a brass kalasha-like vessel. Another man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with hands folded at the back. Ritual observance setting consistent with a puja.March 12 20202020-03-12February 10 20202020-02-10 +1 copiesNovember 22 20102010-11-22March 12 20202020-03-12A nighttime temple procession photographed from a close angle. Several men and women in plain white ritual clothing, some with white and red-bordered garments, stand in a crowd with hands raised in devotion, faces lifted upward. On the left, a man in white holds a striped cloth or bundle. Behind them, a palanquin or ratha with a gold-framed canopy and an ornate deity murti is visible, lit by warm lamps. The scene suggests a night procession during a temple festival.2010-11-05A night-time outdoor puja at an ashram. A priest in white dhoti and shawl with a gold border bends forward at a table laid with bananas, mangoes and fruit on gold plates, performing offerings before a decorated deity murti garlanded with yellow, red and green flowers. A devotee holds a lit torch on the left, and a man in a saffron-coloured cloth stands nearby. Several people in white ritual clothes with rudraksha malas stand with hands folded in prayer, and a woman in a blue sari watches. Speakers and foliage fill the background.2013-01-09
