A woman in a yellow sari with a garland around her neck stands in front of the murtis, looking up with hands folded. Behind her a man in an orange robe with a saffron shawl and rudraksha-style beads holds a brass tray of offerings. In the foreground at left a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti with a gold necklace holds a plate of flowers and fruit near brass lamps and a kalasha. Several other people in white and orange clothing stand at the back near an orange wall. Brass oil lamps and offering plates sit on the stone floor, and a flower arrangement rests in the lower foreground. The scene looks like a puja or aarti ritual, with the deities being honoured.2010-12-23January 12 20152015-01-12Photograph of a ceremonial procession at an outdoor temple setting. A young man in a pink dhoti and pink shawl stands beside a large festival idol of a goddess seated on a throne, wearing pink and gold silk, gold crown, nose ring, layered necklaces and bangles, and holding a trident. The idol is decorated with bands of yellow, orange, red and purple flowers and green foliage. A gold-rimmed tray with ritual items is held by hands at the lower left. The man wears a gold necklace and a vertical tilak on his forehead and is looking down toward the idol. Ornamental gilded arch frames the top of the scene.2010-12-26A ritual scene at an outdoor tent pavilion where a bare-chested priest in a pink dhoti stands beside a flower-decorated altar and deity murtis draped in yellow, orange and red garlands. Seated in the foreground are rows of men in green shawls with white and ash-marked foreheads, several with microphones before them, chanting and performing puja. Behind them, a robed figure in orange and devotees in green and yellow stand near a tiered decorated structure with banana plants and bunting. Several murtis in the background are richly adorned with marigold garlands. No figure is clearly identifiable as a person from appearance.2015-01-12July 18 20132013-07-18December 26 20102010-12-26October 02 20142014-10-02December 26 20102010-12-26April 27 20182018-04-27Outdoor ritual under a corrugated metal canopy in front of a decorated deity murti shrine with garlands and a tall ornate backdrop. A seated figure in a saffron-orange robe sits on a raised platform before a gold-colored stand holding offerings and a brass vessel, while another person in white stands nearby with hands folded. A framed portrait sits on an orange armchair beside the platform. Seated rows of women and girls in orange saris with red borders face the platform, and a bare-headed sannyasi in orange sits at left. Plants, a red wall and a loudspeaker are visible in the background. Whether the saffron-robed central figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance, so the role is given as a seated sannyasi.2014-10-02
