Photograph of a ceremonial procession on a decorated golden palanquin-style float with colourful tassels in pink, green, yellow and turquoise hanging from its canopy. A man in the foreground sits on red velvet cushions wearing an orange-saffron robe, a gold crown, a long red-and-white flower garland with a bead necklace, a red forehead mark and rudraksha-style wrist beads, smiling at the viewer. Beside him, a second figure seated with his back to the camera wears an orange cloth and a tall ornate gold headdress, with a garland over his shoulders. The float is trimmed with yellow, white and pink flowers and gold carved panels against a bright white sky. He wears a bright orange saffron turban with a white floral ornament and a red bindi, an orange saffron robe draped over the shoulder, and a long strand of gold beads with a large gold pendant around his neck. His hands are raised in front of him in a gesture of discourse. Behind him stand tall garlands of yellow marigolds and purple flowers, with white lilies and red flowers on a side table and a bottle of water. A small red cushion with flower petals sits before the throne. Appearance-based identification is probable: the orange turban, saffron robes and gold necklace are consistent with Swamiji (probable) seated for a satsang, as the page indicates.2011-08-19A man seated on an ornate silver throne with a red cushioned seat under a decorated canopy with red, blue and yellow tassels.
