Evening outdoor photo of a long-haired figure in a saffron-orange robe and draped orange dhoti with a red-and-yellow marigold garland, holding a lit oil lamp (aarti) toward a tall copper flagstaff (dhvajastambha) wrapped in white cloth and topped with green grass. The copper pillar stands on a carved stone base hung with red and yellow marigold garlands. Behind are dark trees and palms under a dusky blue sky. A parked white van with a 'Ananda Galleria' sign and a poster of a person in orange is at left. Several people are partly visible at the bottom edge, including a bald man in white and women in the crowd.2011-11-29November 29 20112011-11-29November 29 20112011-11-29November 29 20112011-11-29 +1 copiesA photograph of a tall copper flagstaff with a carved, ornamented base and yellow and orange flower garlands hanging down its side, outdoors under a blue sky with a corrugated roof edge and palm trees behind. A man in orange robes with a dark rudraksha-style mala stands at the left, holding a small brass bell and lamp toward the pole. Behind him an attendant in white dhoti with gold ornaments holds a brass tray, and another figure in orange stands further back. Ritual flag-hoisting setting. The standing man in orange is a probable Swamiji, identified by his long swept-back hair, saffron garments and rudraksha mala, but his features are uncertain.2011-03-05November 29 20112011-11-29July 22 20132013-07-22A photograph of a copper flagstaff (dhvaja stambha) with a decorated ornate base, draped with a garland of yellow and orange flowers and bound with rope. In the foreground a man in an orange dhoti with a rudraksha mala around his neck stands holding a bell and a lit flame toward the base of the pole, performing a flag-hoisting ritual. Behind him a man in white dhoti and shawl with a gold necklace holds a silver tray, and another man in orange stands further back. Palm trees and a blue sky appear behind a open-sided roofed pavilion.2011-03-05 +1 copiesA tall copper dwajastambha flagstaff rises against a dusk sky beside a palm tree, its base wrapped in yellow and orange marigold garlands and red flowers. Strings of orange and red flowers hang down its length. At the lower right, a figure in an orange-red robe with a beaded rudraksha-style necklace stands near the base, holding a lit oil lamp in one hand and a small bell in the other, apparently performing a ritual near the flagstaff. The figure's face is not visible enough to judge who it is, so the role is given as a ritual officiant in orange robes. The scene suggests a flag-hoisting ceremony at a temple.2010-01-02 +1 copiesNovember 21 20102010-11-21Outdoor temple scene under a blue sky beside a metal roof.
