Behind her, four musicians sit on a striped floor mat: two women singing into microphones, one in a teal sari and one in a blue-green sari, and two men in orange-brown kurtas playing a flute and a stringed instrument. A brass lamp stand with lit oil lamps stands at right beside a warm-toned backdrop.2014-06-01June 01 20142014-06-01A female Bharatanatyam dancer stands centre stage in a golden-yellow and emerald-green costume with gold-embroidered borders and a fan-pleated waist panel, hands on her hips, wearing gold jewellery, a necklace and a flower in her hair. Behind her, three musicians sit on a colourful striped cloth: a vocalist in a blue sari, a seated performer in a green sari playing a hand percussion instrument, and a man in orange playing a stringed instrument. The stage backdrop shows a painted temple-style pillar, a brass lamp stand, and a red-and-pink deity murti with multiple arms holding objects. This is a dance performance, possibly an arangetram, in a temple-style hall.2014-06-01A photograph of a classical Indian dancer performing on an outdoor stage at night. The dancer, in a red and gold costume with a gold waist belt, long beaded necklaces and a headpiece, sits cross-legged on the patterned carpet with both arms raised overhead, palms angled upward. Two musicians sit at the right in white traditional clothing, one playing a stringed instrument in front of a microphone. Draped pink and maroon fabric forms the backdrop, with stage lights and speakers at the lower left. The scene is a cultural performance; no a person is visible.2010-02-12A female classical dancer performs on an outdoor stage under a tent at night, in a bent-knee pose with one arm raised and the other extended. She wears a deep maroon blouse and a gold-and-maroon pleated skirt with a jewelled belt and ankle bells, and her hair is adorned with a head ornament. Behind her hangs draped pink and maroon stage curtains lit by pink light. To the right, two musicians in white clothes sit on the floor: one plays a violin and the other works a harmonium before a microphone. Water bottles sit near the performers, and stage monitors are visible at the lower left.2010-02-12June 01 20142014-06-01A Bharatanatyam dance performance on a red-carpeted stage in front of dark red drapery. Two female dancers in orange and green traditional silk costumes with gold borders perform. The foreground dancer kneels with one hand raised in a mudra, wearing a flower-adorned hairpiece, a red-beaded necklace and ankle bells. A second dancer kneels at the right in a similar orange costume beside a potted plant. At the left edge, an ornately carved gold throne or shrine frame stands beside a figure in red. Green foliage and a potted plant frame the scene.2016-05-17
