KAILASA PUDUVAI 15 Oct 2021KAILASA PUDUVAI 15 Oct 2021Close-up of a hand holding a brass or gold-toned tool with a flared tip, tracing curving script-like designs into a layer of white powder spread on a wooden table. A garland of white jasmine flowers and a red flower are draped over the tool and wrist. A red garment edge appears at the top left, and a purple sleeve at the top right. The white powder and etched lines suggest a ritual drawing or kolam, with yellow petals scattered nearby.2010-07-21Feb 13 2022 sripuramFeb 4 2022 sripuram2022-02-04Overhead photo of six women seated cross-legged on a stone floor around a large round brass tray heaped with rice grains. Several women press their hands into the grain, and one holds a small brass cup. Clothing includes saris in orange, yellow, red, blue and green, with gold bangles and earrings. A basket of red flowers sits at left, and loose petals scatter the floor. The setting appears to be a temple, consistent with the Sripuram Hyderabad event context of abhishekam and puja offerings.2022-02-04 +1 copiesJanuary 16 20072007-01-16 +1 copiesA group of women sit closely together on the floor of a temple hall, gathered around a large brass plate heaped with white grain or flour. Several hands are reaching into the grain, mixing or arranging it. The women wear bright silk sarees in magenta, yellow, orange, cream and green, with gold necklaces, bangles and red glass bangles. Behind them stands an ornate golden throne-like altar with carved elephant motifs, draped in gold cloth. Fruit and offering items are visible at the edge of the plate.July 21 20102010-07-21July 21 20102010-07-21Close photograph of a ritual at a wooden table covered with a smooth layer of white powder, drawn into curved lines. A long white jasmine garland with red flower accents lies across the table and drapes over a brass object with a pointed tip. Above, a person in a dark purple sari with a red and gold border kneels or sits, with a hand resting on the table edge at lower left. An orange cloth covers the floor and a yellow marigold lies on the table. The arrangement suggests a sacred offering setting.2010-07-21A photograph of a ritual scene on a low wooden platform. A white powder design, possibly rice flour or kolam-style patterning, covers the wood, with a red flower and white jasmine-like garland placed near the centre. A dark brown silk cloth with a red border and gold zari edging drapes across the lower right. Partially visible seated people in saffron-orange robes sit at the top edge of the frame, and a bowl of white powder sits at the lower left on the concrete floor.2010-07-21
