July 09 20152015-07-09A bare-chested priest with a closed-eyed, focused expression holds a silver aarti lamp with a lit flame in his right hand during a ritual. He wears a purple and magenta turban, a pink-and-gold shawl draped over one shoulder, and layered beaded rudraksha malas with gold-toned beads. Behind him, a man in white and gold dhoti, a man in an orange turban, and women in gold-bordered saris and malas stand watching the aarti. The background is blurred temple interior.2018-04-14A shaved-headed man in an orange-red dhoti and matching shawl with gold border stands in the centre holding a brass aarti lamp with a large flame in his right hand and a bell in his left, with white tilak marks on his forehead and arms and a beaded gold-toned mala around his neck. Seated people in white and orange clothing behind him join palms in prayer, with rows of red chairs at right and a small brass lamp at lower left, and a red backdrop with framed notices on the wall. The scene suggests an aarti ritual during a satsang gathering.2013-02-11Night outdoor ritual at a large gathering. A young man in a rust-orange turban and orange-brown cloth stands at centre, holding a brass oil lamp with a flame in one hand and a small brass bell in the other, facing a figure seen from behind with long dark hair and a yellow flower garland. Behind him, a dense crowd of mostly bare-chested men sits closely together, many wearing lanyards and rudraksha-style neck beads, with a red pole rising at the right. Warm firelight and oil lamp glow fill the scene against a dark background.2016-10-10July 09 20152015-07-09November 11 20172017-11-11A person in a red turban and red-saffron garment, wearing red flower garlands, a brown rope-like shawl, gold necklaces and gold armbands, performs an aarti or fire ritual, lifting a flaming oil lamp on a metal plate while holding a spoon-like ladle to the mouth. Behind, several men in white dhotis and bare or sacred-thread-marked torsos stand close, some with vibhuti or tilak marks; one in glasses and a white dhoti holds a brass vessel near the lamp. Palm trees and dusk light set the outdoor scene. The figure in red is distinguished by a red turban, garlanded ornate attire and golden jewellery, so this is a person candidate performing the ritual.2014-12-05A man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl performs aarti with a lit ornate silver lamp held in his right hand, flames rising from the wick. He wears a gold bead necklace, a small rudraksha-style mala, and a sandalwood tilak with horizontal arm markings. Behind him seated devotees in white and orange clothes watch and some have hands folded in prayer, with plastic chairs and a bell visible in the foreground and a red-orange tent interior.2013-02-11July 09 20152015-07-09December 05 20142014-12-05A man in an orange-red turban and matching saffron-red dhoti-style wrap with a gold border tends a large fire at a homa. He wears a rudraksha mala and heavy gold beaded necklaces, with bead bracelets on his wrists and a red bindi on his forehead. Bright flames rise from a brick fire pit in front of him, and a copper pot sits to the side. The setting is dark and smoky, with the figure lit mainly by the fire.2014-01-05October 12 20152015-10-12
