Outdoor photo of a ritual bathing scene at a shallow brown water tank during Dasara celebrations in Hyderabad. A standing man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron-coloured dhoti and shawl and a long strand of gold beads around his neck; he appears to be a probable Swamiji with distinctive saffron clothing and long hair, standing in the water. In the foreground, a bald man in a white dhoti with maroon border bends forward at the water's edge, sprinkled with red and pink powder. A third man beside them has face and head smeared with teal and magenta colour. Red flower petals float on the water. Behind them, a crowd of seated spectators in saffron, white and pastel saris and white clothing watches from a red brick stepped embankment with palm trees beyond.2010-10-17October 17 20102010-10-17October 17 20102010-10-17October 17 20102010-10-17A photograph of a sadhu standing waist-deep in shallow sea water, bowing forward to offer flowers and fruit onto the water. A shaved-headed man in a white dhoti and shawl with maroon borders kneels on stone steps, leaning forward and cupping his hands over a small brass or gold vessel that he is lowering into murky water. Red flower petals, a red garland and scattered offerings float on the surface, with white paper or cloth pieces in the water. Beside him, a standing person in saffron-orange robes and a gold-coloured necklace stands in the water, and another saffron-robed person is visible at the lower right. The setting appears to be a temple tank or pond with a stone embankment.2010-10-17October 17 20102010-10-17A crowd of devotees gathers outdoors under a tree at a temple visit. In the centre, a man with long dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears a saffron-orange robe and stands with his hands at his sides, looking downward. Beside him, a younger man in a saffron robe wears a rudraksha mala and a white forehead mark. In the foreground, a man in a white shirt bends forward and holds a small metal vessel, while another man with his head lowered is blessed or receiving attention. Women in saris, one in pink and one in red, stand among the onlookers, and a parked car and white signboard are visible in the background.2009-01-07Outdoor photo of a river bank where people in saffron-orange robes stand barefoot at the water's edge, one holding a brass vessel with offerings. Flower petals and a red garland float on muddy brown water, with a folded red cloth and white cloth on the surface. Green vegetation and a low wall line the far bank. Visible people are feet and legs of figures in orange and white clothing, with partially visible people in the water at right; the image is a waterside ritual offering, possibly a visarjan, but only the visible objects are described.2010-10-17October 17 20102010-10-17
