A young priest in orange dhoti and orange turban holds a small brass tray of flowers and offerings at left, while a bare-chested priest in rust-coloured cloth, with rudraksha malas and a turban, bends low to light an oil lamp over a brass fire vessel on a striped cloth. Another priest in orange wraps and beaded necklaces stands at far left. Behind them a seated figure in orange robes sits on a gold throne with a red cushion, with white markings on the forehead, facing the rite. Fresh fruit, coconuts, pink flower garlands and a decorated kalasha sit on brass trays in the foreground, beside a carved wooden screen and stone pillars. The scene suggests a puja ritual in progress, with burning lamps and floral offerings arranged around the central figure.2018-05-29A seated man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange-red ochre garment and a long gold bead necklace, extends his right hand to touch the forehead of a kneeling devotee. He has white vertical tilak and a red dot on his forehead. The devotee, with grey hair, wears a white shirt and an orange-red shawl with printed text, and presses his palms together in anjali mudra. Behind them stands a silver staff topped with a finial, a black cobra-shaped rod, and a golden ornamental seat, with red curtains behind. A partially visible peacock-feather fan appears at lower left. The gesture suggests a blessing or initiation. Swamiji (probable) is the seated figure, identified by long swept-back hair, ochre robes, gold beaded necklace and white tilak cues.2014-07-27Photograph of a ceremonial audience on a silver-embossed throne with a leopard-print cushion. A man in saffron-rust robes, heavy gold beads and a gold pendant sits on the throne, extending a hand toward a devotee in white who bows forward with hands together. Three attendants in orange sashes stand beside: one with white body markings and a long braid holds a folded white paper, another in a rudraksha mala points toward it, and a third steadies the bowing devotee's shoulder. A red curtain and a silver staff are in view. The seated figure has long swept-back hair and ornate gold adornments, a distinctive appearance matching the a person label for the seated person.2017-11-19A photograph inside a canopied temple tent during an abhishekam. In the foreground, a bare-chested priest in red-brown dhoti with white sacred marks on his chest and arms stands at left, holding a silver vessel of offerings under white cloth topped with pink petals and a black handle. At right, a long-haired man in a red-orange wrap sits on a red cushioned seat with hands folded in prayer, facing a deity shrine with a gilded arch, a decorated deity murti in red and gold, and a standing figure in purple. Incense smoke drifts through the tent, and a brass lamp and floral offerings sit on the cloth before them.2017-09-11 +1 copiesA ceremonial puja at a temple with a large flaming lamp raised in a brass aarti holder.
