A figure in a red-orange turban and draped red-orange robe, wearing a red and white flower garland and a rudraksha-style red bead garland, stands with their back mostly to the camera and reaches up to adorn a golden deity murti. The murti wears a tall gilded crown, golden earrings, layered jewelled necklaces and bangles, and holds a long wooden staff. Behind them are marigold and white flower garlands, gold-leaf temple decoration and a carved stone wall. Ritual adornment of a deity murti during temple worship, with the figure's role unclear from appearance alone.2015-07-31July 31 20152015-07-31July 07 20092009-07-07A photograph of a temple festival image of a deity, with a figure in a rust-red dhoti and red-orange headcloth standing at left and raising a hand to place flowers atop the image. The deity murti has a golden crown, a trident-like staff, golden and jewelled necklaces, and a red-orange garment, decorated with yellow marigolds, white flowers and red and green garlands. A golden kalasha-shaped vessel and ornate silver-gold metalwork frame the scene. The figure's reddish dress and red garland at the neck are visible, but the figure's face is turned away, so identity is unsure.2015-07-31July 22 20132013-07-22July 31 20152015-07-31A figure in a rust-orange dhoti with a gold border and a gold-trimmed shawl, with hair in a bun and a gold armlet, stands with back partly turned and reaches to place a gold crown on the head of a golden deity murti. The murti has a gold face with red lips, a gold crown, layered gold necklaces, large earrings and a purple-and-gold garment. Behind it is a golden peetha and a red-and-white garland arrangement of roses, marigolds and white flowers. A silver plate with offerings sits at the lower left. The scene is a ritual decoration of a murti during a temple festival.2014-11-26July 07 20092009-07-07A photo of a temple ritual before two gilded deity murtis seated on a throne-like peetha beneath an ornate golden arch. The murti on the left wears a red and gold headdress with a jewelled ornament and red garment, while the one on the right wears a gold crown and gold armour-like garments with heavy jewellery. A figure in orange robes with a white flower garland stands at the left, one hand touching the head of the red-turbaned murti. Garlands in yellow, red, purple and green frame the arch, and a silver vessel and a small golden kalasha-like object sit in the foreground.2009-12-30A photograph of a priest in an orange-red dhoti and a yellow and red flower garland decorating two gilded deity murtis draped in flowers. The priest, seen from behind, reaches to adjust ornaments on the figures. The nearer murti wears a green and gold embellished garment, a jewelled crown, and a large orange flower garland, with rose and white blossoms surrounding them. Behind them stands a gilded metal backdrop with ornate relief work. The scene suggests a temple decoration ritual.2015-01-09July 22 20132013-07-22A photograph of a temple puja. A man with long dark hair, bare-shouldered and wearing a red-and-gold striped dhoti-style cloth, a gold chain and rudraksha-style beaded necklace, holds a lit flame on a silver lamp (aarti) toward a metal deity murti. The murti is adorned with a gold and red crown, a red silk garment and a white flower garland. Behind it stand tall garlands of yellow, purple, red and white flowers and a gold arched backdrop. The man appears to be a person, based on long swept hair, ceremonial gold necklaces and rudraksha beads, with the murti receiving pada-puja-style worship. Brass and gold ritual implements sit nearby.2011-12-12
