A seated man in orange sannyasi robes with a bun, a long rudraksha mala and a gold-edged orange shawl places his right hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in a white kurta with hands pressed together in namaste. The kneeling devotee has a black collar-style cord and a ring. Behind them is a gold deity murti or altar decoration with red and yellow garlands, a white tower fan on the left, and a pale wall. This appears to be a blessing or padapuja-style darshan moment.2011-11-30A photograph of an indoor ritual exchange. A man with a long reddish-brown braided turban, a short beard, a gold chain and a sleeveless rust-red garment applies a white marking to the forehead of a second man who has long dreadlocks and wears an orange-gold ornate garment with a beaded necklace. The recipient sits with eyes closed and a red wristband. Behind them, a woman in red and other people stand near an ornately carved stone pillar. The setting appears to be a hall with a chandelier-like ceiling. Other people in the background wear red and light patterned clothing.2018-04-30A seated man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with a rudraksha mala and a gold pendant necklace, places his right hand on the forehead of a kneeling bald man bare-chested with a white and gold-bordered cloth over his shoulder. The seated man has a white urdhva-style forehead mark with a red bindi and swept-back dark hair, and sits on a red velvet throne-like chair. Yellow roses in a vase sit in front, and a gold kalasha-style ornament stands beside them, before a painted forest backdrop of green trees. The scene looks like a blessing or initiation moment.2012-10-08A seated man in saffron robes with long swept-back dark hair, a rudraksha mala and a ceremonial bead necklace places his hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in a white kurta with a green lanyard and rudraksha beads. The seated figure is on a gold and red throne, wearing a Swamiji (probable) appearance with long hair and saffron ornate clothing, performing a third-eye style blessing initiation. Behind them a man in white dhoti with red-striped cloth and a sacred thread stands, a lush green plant and a silver tray with flowers and offerings sit nearby, and a woman in a gold-bordered sari with a red blouse sits with hands folded. A silver bowl of white flower petals and a tray of yellow flowers are on the floor, indicating an initiation ceremony.2016-05-06July 20 20152015-07-20A seated man in orange robes wearing long beaded rudraksha-style necklaces, a red bindi and white tilak, with long swept-back dark hair, rests his right hand on the head of a seated man in a white shirt with a red-brown beaded necklace who bows forward. The robed figure holds a small folded white card in his left hand. He sits on a red and leopard-print throne-like seat in front of a painted backdrop of a banyan tree and a carved stone temple figure, with a brass lamp and a metal bowl nearby. Cues consistent with the page are the robes, beads and hair; this is an appearance-based candidate for a person in a blessing or guidance scene.2012-04-06March 13 20132013-03-13October 12 20172017-10-12May 19 20132013-05-19May 03 20122012-05-03A seated man in a rust-red sannyasi wrap with a rudraksha mala draped over his bare shoulder sits on an ornate gold throne and places his right palm on the forehead of a standing devotee. The devotee wears a white short-sleeved shirt, presses his palms together in namaste and bows his head. Behind them stand a kalasha-style arrangement of orange and yellow flowers, a lit oil lamp, and golden deity murti decorations with garlands. A woman in white and red sits at the right edge. The seated figure's long swept-back hair and rudraksha cues match the page's identification as Swamiji (probable), while the devotee is a devotee receiving blessing.2014-12-26A photo of a diksha-style initiation in an orange-draped monastic setting. A figure with long, swept-back dark hair, bare-chested under an orange shawl, sits on a raised seat and presses one hand to the forehead of a kneeling man in orange clothing with praying hands and a rudraksha mala. Behind them, rows of seated monks in saffron robes watch, and a bamboo frame hung with orange flags and small banners stands among gleaming silver and gold ritual objects, including a silver deity murti. The figure's presentation matches the page's Swamiji reference through long hair, bare-chested orange shawl and rudraksha-style adornment, so this is an appearance-based probable identification; the printed caption identifies the archive page, not the person.2006-08-22
