A devotee in white kurta with a saffron-red shawl stands with palm raised while a woman in orange-red sari and rudraksha mala presses her hand to his forehead, blessing him. She wears a sari with gold border and a rudraksha-strung garland, and holds a small folded paper. Behind them, seated devotees in orange and red robes and a framed portrait with gold-trimmed frame are visible in a bright temple hall.2014-03-26A photograph of a ritual blessing indoors. A shaved-headed man in a white shirt with a red-orange shawl bends forward, his palms pressed together, while a man in red-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a white tilak on his forehead raises his right hand toward the bowed man's head and holds a folded white paper in his left hand. Potted green plants and a window with blurred lights sit behind them, and a few other people in red clothing stand in the background. The gesture suggests a hand-raised blessing or deeksha-style transmission.2015-03-03March 26th 20142014-03-26A photograph of a blessing exchange indoors. A man with long dark hair in a bun, bare-shouldered in a rust-brown cloth with a gold ceremonial necklace of beads, presses his right palm to the forehead of a shorter, grey-haired man in a white kurta with a red and white beaded mala around his neck. A woman in white sits blurred in the lower right, and a pale curtain and dark wall form the background. The gesture resembles a padapuja-style blessing, with the standing figure giving the blessing and the other receiving it. That older man wears a white shirt with an orange shawl and a gold ring, and presses his hand to his head in a gesture of reception. A white paper is held in the seated man's left hand. Behind them is a gold-framed floral arrangement and an orange upholstered chair in a hall with checkered red carpet.2014-03-25Indoor photograph of two men in close interaction. A man seated on a red cushion, bare-shouldered and wrapped in orange-saffron cloth with a gold bead necklace and a white vertical mark on his forehead, presses one hand to the forehead of a second man who wears a white shirt and an orange-red shawl over his shoulders. The second man has his eyes closed and his hands are raised near his head in a receptive gesture. Behind them a red-and-gold deity murti or figure is partly visible at the left edge, and a white wall with a wall outlet is in the background.2012-10-13
