December 06 20112011-12-06 +1 copiesOutdoors under tall trees, a man with long, dark, swept-back hair stands with palms pressed together in namaskar before a black stone deity murti set in a white arched niche with a green backdrop. The murti is draped with a saffron-and-cream cloth. In front lies a large mound of red flower petals, and a small black altar holds an oil lamp. The man wears a red-orange cloth wrap over his shoulders and bare chest, with gold bangles on his wrists and a gold necklace. The lower foreground shows a red cloth and a dry, earthy ground. The photo shows a worship scene, with the man offering prayer at the shrine.2011-12-05October 30 20112011-10-30A man with long swept-back dark hair stands outdoors in a wooded area, palms pressed together in prayer at his chest, eyes lowered. He is bare-chested, wearing a peach-coloured dhoti and a matching draped shawl edged in gold, with a beaded necklace and gold armlet. Before him is a black stone deity murti seated in a white arched niche, draped with a red cloth and garlanded with yellow and red flowers, with a green backdrop behind it. A large heap of red offerings lies in front of the shrine among trees and dry ground. The man's appearance with long hair, gold adornments and draped peach clothing is a compatible presentation, so this may be a person, shown in devotional prayer before the deity.2011-11-20A photograph of an outdoor shrine in a wooded area. A man with long dark hair, wearing a red-orange dhoti and shawl with gold bangles and a gold necklace, stands at right with palms pressed together in anjali, eyes closed. Before him is a black stone deity murti in a white arched frame backed by green cloth, its face partly veiled with a cream cloth and multiple arms raised. In front is a heap of red-painted offerings and a small oil lamp on a low black stand. The man is a devotee in prayer; the identity of the person is not determined from appearance.2011-12-05November 03 20112011-11-03A man with long dark hair stands in profile on the right, hands pressed together in namaskar with eyes closed, facing a black stone deity murti in an arched white niche draped with green cloth and marigold garlands. He wears a bare chest, rudraksha beads, gold bangles, a peach-orange shawl and a light gold-bordered dhoti. A red cloth and red-smeared offerings sit at the base of the shrine, with trees and sunlit ground behind. Swamiji appearance-based cues are present (long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas, ornate gold jewellery and saffron-toned clothing), so the praying man is a probable Swamiji in devotional posture before the shrine.2011-11-20 +1 copiesA bare-chested man stands in profile at right in prayer, palms pressed together at chest level, eyes lowered. He wears a blue dhoti-style cloth with an orange edge, silver bangles on his upper arm and wrist, and a silver beaded necklace. His hair is pulled back into a bun. At left, a dark stone deity murti sits in a white carved arch draped with a green curtain, garlanded with white and red flowers and wrapped in a yellow shawl, with red flowers at its base. Blurred green trees fill the background.2011-12-02A man with his palms pressed together in namaskar stands at right, bare-chested, wearing a red and gold dhoti-style cloth draped over his shoulder and red-and-white beaded bangles and necklace. In front of him, a black deity murti with a yellow garment and red trim sits inside a silver-toned arched shrine niche, with a yellow backdrop behind it. Trees and blurred greenery fill the background.2011-11-27January 17 20132013-01-17A bare-chested man with long dark hair stands outdoors in prayer, palms pressed together at his face with eyes closed. He wears a blue shawl draped over one shoulder, an orange dhoti, a gold necklace, and layered bangles on his wrists. Behind him, out of focus, a black stone deity murti stands in front of a bright yellow arched backdrop, draped with a pink cloth, and white carved stone framing surrounds the arch. Green trees and bokeh fill the background. The man's long swept-back hair, ornate gold necklace and shawl match the description of a person, but the figure is unsure.2011-10-28A photograph of a shirtless man in profile with eyes closed and palms pressed together in anjali mudra before a black stone deity murti. The man wears a yellow and green striped dhoti or cloth, red and orange rudraksha beaded necklaces and wrist bands, and his hair is pulled back into a bun. The murti is draped in red and yellow cloth and is set within an arched white stone niche framed by a yellow curtain, with trees blurred in the background. Ornaments and garlands surround the image. Cues are not sufficient to identify the man, so he is described only by his role as a devotee at prayer.2011-12-01
