Before each person are brass plates and small brass lamps holding oil lamps, fruit, bananas, red-and-white sweets and flower offerings on banana leaves or mats. A young man in the foreground wears a red kurta and a rudraksha-style mala and performs the offering with his hands over a plate. Others wear white kurtas, orange and striped shirts, and casual clothes. Oil lamps burn along the floor and the setting appears to be a temple hall with white canopies overhead.2011-09-26A seated row of devotees performs a puja at a temple-style hall, with brass plates and oil lamps glowing along a low floor cloth in front of them. In the foreground a young boy in a purple shirt with a rudraksha mala looks down, hands raised toward the offerings. Adults in white dhotis and shirts sit beside him, some with hands joined or extended over brass vessels. On the left, a bare-backed priest in a white dhoti sits facing the row. Red and orange cloths hang in the blurred background, and small lamp flames dot the scene. Several more people are visible in the background.2011-12-15Close photo of children seated on a floor mat performing a puja with brass ritual implements.
