Many people in orange and saffron robes sit in rows on the steps, some in white garments, and a film crew with a tripod camera works at the lower left. A man in red-brown robes stands near the camera. a person is not visually distinguishable here, so the seated figure is described by role only as the presiding teacher on the raised seat.2016-01-03Large outdoor gathering on red stone ghat steps beside water, with a crowd of saffron- and orange-robed sadhus and devotees seated in rows. Many raise their hands in blessing or greeting. A seated central figure in saffron garb sits near a microphone stand on the steps. Two men walk down stone steps toward the water, left to right: the front man wears a white dhoti with a gold border, bare upper torso, and a beaded mala necklace; the second wears a rust-red/orange robe, a long beaded rudraksha-style mala, and has long hair and a tilak, walking barefoot. Behind them women in colourful saris (teal, orange, pink) and girls with garlands stand along the left steps, some with hands folded. Rows of seated devotees fill the stands on the left, many in white and yellow saris, a young child in red held by a woman in a yellow outfit, and men in white dhotis and shirts sitting along the water's edge. Across the tank, a large black Shiva lingam is decorated with marigold garlands on a yellow-and-red garlanded platform, with a flower-covered tiered stage beside it. Red-brick buildings and tall flagpoles stand in the background, and the tank reflects the lingam. The scene suggests a Rudrabhishekam ritual with satsang seating. The monk's features are not clear enough for an identity claim.2016-12-27Outdoor photo of a ritual at the edge of a pond or tank with brick-red stepped ghats.
