December 31 20112011-12-31A homa ritual at night in an open ashram space. A bald priest in orange robes with a gold necklace and tilak sits cross-legged, pouring a ladle of liquid into a fire built on a stacked pyramid of orange-painted bricks decorated with red flower petals. He holds an open book in one hand. Behind him, a second orange-robed man sits with a rudraksha mala, and a woman in a red and maroon blouse and skirt sits with folded hands. A microphone stand, brass vessels, a bell and a small kalasha lie nearby, with a flower-decorated pot at the lower left.2012-07-29July 29 20122012-07-29March 31 20132013-03-31December 31 20112011-12-31A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night in an open-air setting. A shaved-headed priest in an orange-brown saffron robe and a rudraksha mala sits on a striped cloth, using a long ladle to pour offerings into a brick-lined fire pit with tall flames. Silver bowls of grains and a small metal kalasha sit nearby. Two men in white clothing with red shawls sit at the left, partly visible, and a chair sits behind them. Sacred ash marks decorate the priest's forehead and arms.2013-03-31December 30 20072007-12-30Outdoor fire ritual at dusk. A brick-lined homa fire pit burns brightly in the foreground, with marigold petals scattered on the bricks and small brass bowls of offerings nearby. A person in a saffron-orange robe with a red forehead mark sits cross-legged behind the fire, holding a lit brass oil lamp in one hand and a small ladle-like ritual implement in the other. Beside them, a second person in white clothes with an orange shawl sits behind a microphone stand. Two people are visible in the scene, with bare ground and dark foliage behind them. The saffron-robed figure's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person, but identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2006-09-21A homa fire ritual in progress: a brick-lined fire pit with a bright flame, scattered pink flower petals and offerings such as lemons, brass bowls and a tray of grains. Three men in saffron-orange robes sit close by; the central figure, with an orange cloth and gold beaded necklace, holds his hands over the flame while the man on the left, with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala, holds a sacred item. A man in white with an orange shawl sits at right beside a microphone stand. Seated devotees in white and yellow clothing sit in the background, and a carved wooden chair stands behind the central figure.2009-06-09December 31 20112011-12-31A photograph of a fire homa in progress. A fire burns in a stone fire pit at the centre. A man in orange robes and a long gold necklace sits behind the pit, holding a small brass vessel and a bell-like object, with long dark hair. Around the pit, several devotees in orange and white clothing sit with their palms pressed together in anjali. Brass bowls, a small kalasha-style vessel, and ritual items lie on a stone platform to the right. A woman in the foreground has bangles and praying hands. The setting appears to be an open outdoor ritual area.2006-05-302004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-02
