A priest in white dhoti with a green-and-gold shawl draped over his shoulder performs aarti, lifting a tall multi-tiered brass lamp with many burning oil lamp flames toward a pair of dark deity murtis dressed in orange and red silks, gold necklaces and crowns. A smaller orange-clad figure stands at the right edge, and a draped cloth-covered object with a gold-bordered pendant sits on a white-cloth platform in front. The walls are pale and a black-tiled altar platform holds the murtis. The scene is a temple shrine room with a rear white door.

Interior of a temple hall with white walls and gold-framed arched niches holding black stone deity murtis. A man in a white dhoti with a red-and-green border stands with his back to the camera, raising a lit lamp or kalasha-like vessel toward the shrines, apparently performing aarti. A woman in a red sari sits at the lower right near a black Nandi statue draped with a purple cloth. Shrines hold a blue-skinned multi-armed deity, a garlanded deity with orange cloth, and a garlanded deity in red and blue with a red curtain.

Indoor temple-style worship before a dark maroon curtain with tall decorative banners showing painted folk motifs. Centre, two black stone or metal deity murtis stand on a raised tiered pedestal draped in gold cloth and garlanded with pink and white flowers; the upper figure wears a tall conical crown and jewelled necklaces. A standing man in a white dhoti-style garment, seen from behind, raises a multi-wick oil lamp with a visible flame toward the deity. Seated attendants in white and a seated man near the left hold brass vessels and offerings on a white-draped table. A smaller deity murti sits at the far left on a purple-draped platform. Audience members, mostly seen from behind, sit on the floor in the foreground, including a woman in a blue sari at the right edge. Brass puja items and fruit lie before the altar, with a kumkum-marked tray in front.

Night photograph of a shrine at a temple. A man in white dhoti and shirt with an orange-saffron shawl stands at left holding a lit lamp aloft toward a deity murti. The central murti stands under a gold arched canopy, draped in red and white cloth, with a red crown or headdress, and is heavily garlanded with yellow, red and green flower garlands and white flower strands. A black stone plinth below bears Tamil inscription text, and a small brass object stands on a white pedestal. Another shrine with a lit lamp is visible behind at left. The mood is nocturnal, with dark surroundings.

Photograph inside a temple shrine room with a cream tiled floor and pale curtains. A person with long dark hair in an orange-red sari-style garment holds a brass aarti lamp with a lit flame toward a decorated deity murti. The deity is dark-skinned, wearing a gold crown, a red and orange silk cloth, layered gold necklaces with coin-like pendants, and red and white flower garlands. A white marble murti stands beside it, and brass kalasha-style vessels and a brass oil lamp sit on the floor. A patterned orange and blue cloth hangs on the right. Another orange-clad figure is partly visible at the left edge. The scene suggests a puja or aarti being performed.

A man in an orange shawl and rudraksha mala performs an aarti before a black stone deity murti in a temple setting. He has long dark hair and a white tilak on his forehead, and holds a glass lamp with a flame in one raised hand while a small bell or cup is held in his other hand. Behind him, a gold-framed niche and a wall sconce light the scene. The black murti stands with a tall crown and raised arms, beside a gilded doorway frame. Swamiji (probable) is identified by long swept-back hair, an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala as the officiating priest performing the aarti.

A photograph at night of a temple shrine where a man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, with long dark hair and bare chest, holds a lit camphor flame on a metal plate toward a deity murti. Two stone-grey murtis of a couple stand behind a pedestal heaped with garlands of yellow, white, red and pink flowers, with gold crowns and jewelled ornaments. A trident-like staff and brass oil lamps stand beside the shrine, with fruit offerings in front. The setting is an open granite pavilion with carved pillars and dark trees behind, consistent with an aarti during a Shivaratri puja. The man's identity is not established by appearance.

A photograph inside a temple shrine showing two standing deity murtis, one black-faced with a gold crown and jewelled necklaces, the other golden-faced in a red silk sari with gold crown and silver jewellery. Garlands of orange, yellow, red and white flowers drape the arch behind them, and a brass oil lamp stands at right. At left, a smiling person with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron robe and a red forehead mark, holding out a small offering toward the deities while a second person in white ritual clothes with a bare back sits in the lower left corner holding a white cloth.
