Outdoor photograph of a Brahmotsava flag-hoisting procession on a sandy courtyard under a clear blue sky, with tall coconut palms and a thatched hut behind a low block wall. A tall flagstaff with a striped banner of blue, red and yellow stands at left. A large crowd of devotees, mostly women in white and cream saris with gold borders and some in orange or pink, and men in white kurtas, stand in rows with hands folded in anjali. On the right, a dark deity murti decorated with a large garland of yellow and orange marigolds sits on a white pedestal, with drummers nearby and a few people in white on the far right. A second orange-clad man with long swept-back dark hair and an orange wrap follows just behind him; he has distinctive long hair and orange clothing, so he is a person candidate. Around them, women in white saris with yellow shawls and a woman in a pink sari with folded hands walk among men in white shirts and dhotis. Some onlookers stand at the right edge.2009-11-27June 17 20092009-06-17Outdoor photo on a sandy path beside palm trees and orange marigolds. Beside and behind her, several young men and women wear white dhoti-style or sari garments with orange shawls draped over their shoulders.
