April 2008 - Making Of Kailaasa In TiruvannamalaiApril 2008 - Making Of Kailaasa In TiruvannamalaiPhoto of grey stone sculptures lying face-down or on their sides on reddish-brown earth with sparse grass. Several carved figures with ornate headdresses, necklaces and bangles, hands folded or raised, are arranged among stone bases and slabs. Behind them stand rows of grey stone pedestals and kalasha-like bases stacked in neat lines. No people are visible; the scene looks like a stone carving workshop preparing temple sculptures.Outdoor view of carved grey stone deity murtis standing on plinths among other stone sculptures and dry leaves, apparently in a workshop yard. The central standing figure has four arms, a tall ornate crown, a long beaded necklace and a waist-cloth, with a bird-like vahana carved beside its legs. Flanking figures are female deities in crowns and jewellery, one with a lion-like vahana at her side, and a partially visible carved lion or mythical beast stands behind. No people are visible. The photograph shows sculptures being made or prepared, consistent with the ashram's sculpture work.July 08 20092009-07-08A photograph of a dark grey stone sculpture of a multi-armed deity standing on a plinth at an outdoor stone-carving yard on reddish earth. The figure wears a tall conical crown, a broad layered necklace, armlets, a waist girdle and a dhoti. Its hands hold a mace-like staff and a club-like object, and one hand is raised in abhaya mudra. A carved elephant mount stands beside it.April 2008 - Making Of Kailaasa In TiruvannamalaiOutdoor photograph of several grey stone deity sculptures set against a red brick wall, overgrown with green vines and weeds. From left: a seated multi-armed figure with a tall crown, a standing multi-armed goddess with raised hands, a seated deity holding a mace-like object, and another seated figure with a staff beside a small granite shrine canopy on pillars in the foreground. No physical people are visible. The statues are unpainted granite.2016-09-03 +1 copiesThree dark grey stone statues stand on plinths outdoors on bare earth in front of a fence and a wall with hanging white cloth and dry branches. The central statue is a four-armed deity murti with a tall crown, holding objects in its hands, standing beside a peacock carved at its feet. The two flanking female figures are standing statues with jewelry and draped garments, with hands at their sides and one holding an object. Another statue is partly visible at the far left and another at the far right. No people are visible.2011-02-28December 15 20092009-12-15An outdoor stone-carving yard on bare red earth holds rows of grey granite-like stone pieces: many round and flat discs, rectangular blocks with carved faces, and several standing figures. Two tall standing deity murti stand in the centre, one with a multi-armed form and a halo-like backdrop, the other with a crown and a mace-like staff, flanked by a seated figure with a bull-like mount. Sacks, sand heaps, a tank and a plastic chair sit in the background, and one man in white walks through the scene. No ritual is visible, and no a person candidate is clearly present.February 01 20152015-02-01
