December 17 20142014-12-17July 03 20082008-07-03A photo taken at a riverside ghat. A figure in saffron-orange robes with long swept-back dark hair, wearing a rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold beads, sits on a leopard-print cushioned seat and pours milk from a white vessel over a white silver-toned Shivalinga on a tray placed on a low wooden table. A small dark metal deity murti stands beside the linga. Behind, other saffron-clad devotees and a bare-chested man bend near the water, and a white cloth and brass vessels are on the table. A portable speaker sits at left. The scene suggests abhishekam.2006-06-04 +1 copiesA photograph of a ceremony beside water on a striped and patterned cloth. A central figure with long dark hair wears an orange robe and a long white flower garland, seated on an ornate gold and red throne. Two men in orange robes stand on either side, one holding a brass pot with flowers and the other a stick, and a man in white kurta stands at left holding a pot. Marigold garlands lie along the edges of the platform and a golden ritual plate sits before the throne. Behind them are stone steps and a large dark bell-shaped structure. Several people in orange and white are visible at the edges, including a seated man at lower right. The central figure shows long hair, orange robes and a garland, which is a probable Swamiji (probable) appearance-based candidate.2009-01-02July 03 20082008-07-03Outdoor temple-courtyard scene in daylight. To the right, an ornate brass deity murti with a decorated arch and garland stands on a draped white and green-bordered cloth, with brass lamps and a small brass kalasha-like vessel. A worker in white sits in the background among stone pillars and foliage. Ritual abhishekam-style puja setting.2007-02-23July 03 20082008-07-03A photograph at a riverside ghat with rocky riverbank and stone steps, a town of buildings on a hillside behind. In the right foreground a man with long dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron robe and an orange ribbed top with sleeves rolled up, extends his arm toward a gilded metal deity murti with a red cloth draped around it, possibly energizing or offering to it. Beside the murti are gold kalasha-like pots. Seated on the stones to the left, a large group of people in orange and saffron clothing listen attentively. A tripod-mounted camera stands among them.2006-05-27December 17 20142014-12-17A photograph of a nighttime ritual puja outdoors. In the foreground on the left, a man with long matted dreadlocks and bare chest, wearing orange cloth and white horizontal markings on his arm, sits cross-legged and handles a small ritual item. Beside him, two more men in orange cloth sit, one bearded man in an orange head wrap wears a rudraksha mala and sits in front of an open gilded shrine box holding a small deity murti garlanded with white flowers. Brass oil lamps, a kalasha-style pot and metal puja vessels are arranged on a red cloth. A red curtain and a carved stone pillar stand in the background, with a person in orange silk at the right edge.2007-08-09A photograph of a ritual gathering aboard a cruise ship atrium, with a tiered balcony of onlookers above.
