Indoor temple scene with white marble shrine architecture and a floral garland arch above a doorway. A bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a red shawl places a garland around the neck of a figure in white robes with a saffron-yellow turban and a white flower garland, standing on a pink marble floor. Brass lamps and offering plates sit near the shrine steps. A man in a dark shirt and tan vest bends over at the right, and hanging bells and gold-framed decor appear in the background. Whether the garlanded figure is a person is uncertain from appearance; the white robe and saffron turban are present but the figure is largely turned away.2006-03-15Photograph of a temple shrine room with white carved stone shrine niches, a deity murti draped in garlands at left, and a shaven-headed priest in a white dhoti and red shawl holding a small brass lamp while performing a puja. A man in a white robe with a yellow-orange turban and a floral garland stands before the shrine with his hands raised in namaskar. Brass plates and a kalasha with a coconut sit on a granite step at right, and red and white floral garlands hang from the pillar.2006-03-15Evening photograph inside a temple shrine at Aadikailaasa, Bengaluru. A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a gold bracelet holds a brass tray of offerings, including white coconut halves and a framed photograph of a smiling woman in saffron. A woman in a white embroidered kurta with a blue shawl and dark-framed glasses receives the tray and holds a white and yellow flower garland. Behind them, carved grey stone pillars frame an altar draped with orange and red cloth, garlanded with flowers, and set with brass lamps and vessels. This appears to be a puja offering exchange.2007-10-13March 15 20062006-03-15Photograph in a bright hall with pale pink walls, a wall-mounted speaker and a staircase railing. A man in a white kurta and white dhoti, wearing a rudraksha mala, stands at left smiling and talking with a man at right. The right figure wears a saffron-orange robe with a cream shawl, a long garland of red, green, yellow and white flowers draped to his feet, and a rudraksha mala; he holds small white papers and looks down at them. A black bag sits on the floor at right. Bare feet on a tiled floor.2011-08-14A photograph of a Shiva lingam being bathed in a temple sanctum. A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with a gold-bead necklace and gold-yellow border pours white granular offering onto the black stone lingam from a silver bowl. Beside him stands a second priest in white with a gold chain, white forehead marks and a red-bordered cloth. Behind the lingam, a deity murti is decorated with red roses, yellow marigolds and green leaves, wearing a red-and-gold sari and jewelled ornaments. Gold-patterned panels and a blue curtain frame the shrine. This appears to be a lingam abhishekam.2011-09-13June 04 20122012-06-04October 16 20072007-10-16Evening puja at a temple-style shrine with grey stone pillars and carved niche. A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes and a beaded necklace, with a white tilak on his forehead, holds a silver tray with offerings and a framed photo. A woman in a white kurta and blue shawl with glasses stands facing him, holding a garland of white, yellow and pink flowers. Behind them an altar is decorated with orange and white drapes, flower garlands, brass lamps and a deity murti. The page does not establish the identity of either person from appearance, so no candidate is marked.2007-10-13Temple ritual in a golden-hued shrine. Three men in white dhotis, bare-chested, perform worship before a deity murti draped in red and white flower garlands. The man on the left, bald and holding a small silver plate, pours or offers from a cup. The central man wears a tall ornate headdress with jewelled gold and black patterning and a white garland, reaching toward the murti. The man on the right wears a cream cloth on his head and a white shawl, bowing with hands together over the murti. Gold and bronze throne-like ornaments and a lit oil lamp frame the scene, with red satin hangings in the background. This is a padapuja or abhishekam style offering.2012-05-02Night photo at a stone shrine with carved pillars and a blue-purple draped backdrop. Two deity murtis stand on a raised platform, one with a green-and-red crown and necklaces, the other in a red sari with garlands, with a white-draped object in front and a kalasha and lamps on the altar. Three people are visible: a bald man in orange robes with a white forehead mark and rudraksha-style beads presses his palms together before the altar; a man in white clothes stands beside him with hands folded; a third person in white at the left edge holds a brass tray of flowers and fruit. Fresh garlands drape the altar.2007-10-17October 17 20072007-10-17
