A photograph of an outdoor sculpture group on a small earthen bank beside a pond. Several bronze-toned statues of bare-chested men stand on a wooden boat with a white sack-like base, one raising a net overhead and others pulling and reaching. Behind them are red-painted boat-like forms, a palm frond, and a leafy tree. Dense green trees and rocky hillside fill the background. The figures are statues, not living people.

A figure with long, swept-back dark hair wears orange saffron cloth draped over one shoulder and arm, with a bangle on the wrist and hands raised toward a wooden raft carrying a large white deity murti decorated with garlands and cloth. Beside him, a man with a shaved head in an orange robe stands with hands folded near the raft. On the left, several men in white dhotis and shirts with faces and heads smeared with pink, blue and yellow colour stand at the bank, and one raises an arm. The water is brown and the sky is pale and overcast. The setting suggests a visarjan immersion of a murti after a festival.2010-10-17A photograph of a serene lake at dusk with calm dark water and lush green trees along the banks. Three men in saffron-orange dhotis with gold borders stand near a black stone deity murti decorated with green leaf garlands. The central man raises his arm toward a flame, while a man on the left holds a silver plate with a small lamp. A man in the centre-left wears a white and red floral garland and folds his hands in prayer. Silver vessels, a brass pot and a textile cloth sit on the ground in front, with a camera on a tripod nearby. The scene appears to be a puja or aarti at an open-air shrine.2015-02-05
