April 14 20182018-04-14A dim photograph of a deity murti framed inside a dense arch of garlands: red roses, orange and yellow marigolds, and white jasmine strands. Behind the garlands are offering flowers in pink and yellow and grass-like decorations. In the foreground, a multi-flame oil lamp burns with bright yellow flames, and a jewelled crown with blue stones and silver ornaments sits beside the figure. Silver necklaces and a red-and-white patterned fabric are visible on the murti. No people are visible in the frame, and the scene reads as a decorated shrine during a puja.2018-04-14April 14 20182018-04-14 +1 copiesA photograph of a deity murti framed by dense garlands of marigolds, roses and white jasmine strands. In the foreground a multi-flame brass aarti lamp with a peacock-shaped ornamental base burns with tall flames, held by a hand. Behind it a shrine niche shows a deity murti wearing jewelled necklaces, with a purple cloth draped on a figure at the left edge. No people are clearly visible beyond the hand holding the lamp and the purple-clad edge, so the scene is a shrine aarti rather than a crowd event.2018-04-14A dense frame of marigolds, roses and jasmine garlands in red, yellow, pink and white surrounds a deity murti in a decorated shrine niche. The murti wears a silver crown with blue stones, silver necklaces and a draped cloth with a red border, with a pair of striped decorative poles beside it. A bare-shouldered man in the lower left, seen from behind with a white sacred thread, faces the shrine. Smoke or incense haze softens the scene.2018-04-14A photo of a deity murti decorated with flower garlands in white, red and yellow, seated on an orange cloth draped throne beneath a gold ornate arch. The murti holds a trident-like staff and wears a jeweled crown and gold necklaces. Brass oil lamps stand in front. On the right, a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti and a rudraksha mala holds a lit lamp during aarti. A faint portrait stands in the background.2016-10-10A photograph of a priest performing an aarti before a deity murti decorated with dense garlands of marigolds, jasmine and red roses in a rounded arch frame. The priest, shown bare-chested with a purple cloth wrapped on his head and a rudraksha-style bead bracelet, holds a multi-wick oil lamp with flames rising toward the decorated murti. A second man in a maroon-and-gold shawl stands at the right edge, partly visible. Yellow sunflower-style floral decorations hang above. The murti's face and adornments are partly obscured by the flames and garlands.2018-04-14July 09 20132013-07-09 +1 copiesFebruary 14 20162016-02-14April 14 20182018-04-14A photograph of a decorated deity murti seated on an ornate golden throne-like canopy draped with white, yellow and red flower garlands, holding a trident-like staff, wearing a tall crown and gold jewellery, with an orange silk cloth spread below. A hand holding a silver lamp with a bright open flame is raised toward a gilded metal shrine niche with an ornate arched top. Garlands of white flowers with red and yellow marigold strands drape the central deity murti, and loose marigolds and petals are scattered before it. Brass vessels and a small oil lamp sit at the base, and a person in white clothing is partly visible at left. The arm holding the lamp is bare with a bangle.2015-10-18
