Beside him, a younger man in a white dhoti with yellow borders and layered beaded necklaces sits with hands folded in prayer. A woman in a maroon sari with gold jewellery sits in the front, and a woman in cream clothing with gold necklaces is at the right edge. A line of devotees stands in a bright hall with red velvet drapes and a large framed image of a bearded figure on the back wall. Several people press their palms together in anjali mudra. Women wear white saris with gold borders and rudraksha malas; men wear white dhotis with gold borders, bare-chested or in red shawls, with rudraksha necklaces. One man on the right has long hair and a red shawl with a red-brown sash; he is standing with hands folded. A young girl in a gold-and-white outfit stands in the foreground. The scene suggests a satsang or ritual gathering in an ashram hall.

A bald young priest in orange-saffron robes, sandalwood tilak and a rudraksha-style mala sits front centre with palms pressed together. Beside him a shaved-headed boy in orange cloth and a white tilak also joins his palms. Women in red and gold saris, a girl in a blue dress and men in white and checked shirts sit on a floor mat.
